Don't miss a few wonderful gems

This is my first review but read tonnes. We were staying at a nearby higher end hotel and this place gave us two best-evers. Firstly, the passion fruit pisco sour is unbelievably good!! Secondly, they produced an all-time top three dessert. A fried chocolate, cointreau truffle etc etc that was... read more

Everyone says this place is so great. I guess it is noteworthy considering it's Urubamba. However, there are plenty of places that are more fun, colorful and worthy of exploration. I'll give this restaurant a pass next time. My alpaca tenderloin was much anticipated, but slightly disappointing. Although perfectly cooked (rare), it was not very tender, the sauce however was... As of today,8/25/2015 we have eaten there twice.Once for dinner and once for lunch. In Peru "lunch" is more or less "dinner".The menu is the same for either.Menus are available in English and Spanish.Vert extensive food.wine and cocktail menus.Wait staff are a little short on English but the "maitre di" ( for want of a better expression ) is a wonderful... Our favorite of the three places we ate at while in Urubumba (the others were Paca Paca, Tres Keros and Hawa). Authentic local spot that makes superb Peruvian/Andean food. Unique inside/outside atmosphere that lends itself to a quirky vibe (sit outside under a heat lamp it's great) with a friendly house cat that acts as the local mayor. Service was... More

Great atmosphere in the courtyard, romantic. The food was fantastic, with flavors put together that I never would have thought of. I had chocolate mint ravioli- it was savory, not sweet like we expect with choc-mint. It was also a great place to try alpaca. Save room for dessert! We went early and didn't have a problem getting a table,... More

We had a lovely meal at this Urubamba favorite sat outside on the porch. The owner was attentive and gave our 3 year daughter a little extra care which was much appreciated. Do wear some warm clothes as it gets cold at night in the Sacred Valley in August.

It is set off the main streets so you have to know where you are going. A lot of street dogs on the way. We took a taxi. It is set around a garden area. The food was Peruvian with an Asian fusion. The presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. It was one of the dining experiences we... More

Huacatay is a gem. It takes a bit of finding down a little side street near the centre of Urubamba but it is worth the effort. Effortly stylish, with little rooms and a bar off a central courtyard, it is a hip combination of traditional and modern. Very Pervian but I'd be happy to find a place as stylish as... More

This was another place that was highly recommended by our resort owner in the Sacred Valley. They were definitely right. The food was outstanding! We had an app, dinner, and dessert along with drinks (yes; we left very full!). Such a beautiful restaurant, too. I love that it was hidden from the main road.

This place was highly recommended by a family friend in Lima so we decided to try it when staying in the Sacred Valley. It's located on a generic side street and you step in to a beautiful courtyard where you can see into the kitchen and are greeted by the friendly staff. My boyfriend ordered the trout which was amazing.... More
