We went to El Huacatay at the recommendation of our hotel staff and did not expect to to find such a quality restaurant in this small town. The staff speaks fluent English, was extremely friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. They even offered local tour advice. While the restaurant excepts credit cards, take enough cash as the electricity... More

We ate at two very good restaurants in Urubamba, of a very high quality for such a small place el Huacatay was our first stop. It is literally behind an unmarked garden door. The inside of the restaurant is white washed walls with nice tables and attractive table settings. The food was plentiful and delicious. We next ate at Tres... More

Went here because of hotel concierge and staff recommendation, and wasn't disappointed. The server spoke fluent English and made excellent recommendations for food and drink according to what I liked! I didn't notice this until eating at many other restaurants later in Peru, but I think the price here is slightly higher than what other places offer. (It's still reasonable... More

Peruvian gnocchi with BBQ grilled chicken, a number of cooked veggies, red peppers, mushrooms, fried plataino chip on top Ina tastey light cream sauce. I had an Andean mint limo too. That was lunch. Going for a lighter meal tonight. I forgot to mention the potato leek soup with garlic mushrooms and mineral water con gas. All for $27 dollars... More

We we're recommend this restaurant, you may not come across it by chance and it's very unassuming from the street. There is a lovely courtyard but also seating inside. We had our best meal in Peru in this restaurant, an English waitress helped us with the menu which is extensive and she made some suggestions, all of which were superb,... More

The place doesn't say much, a very rustic and simple place. The staff is local and not all that well prepared, in fact, not very good service. But the food...oh, the food, it's just great, it is what you would expect in a high end place. On the other hand, it is a typical place in the area, so don't... More

If there is any dining experience worthwhile to be on the recommended list, this is it! We sat inside although the courtyard looked charming enough as it was raining. The menu is extensive and includes all the Andean specialty. The dishes carry a mix of fusion flavour and are very palatable. There were 8 of us celebrating my husband's birthday... More

You really have to search to find this restaurant! Its in a back street and with very little signage but its really worth the effort. Through a courtyard and past the bar and you immediately get the feeling that this place is well run. Menu is extensive and represented good value for the money. Courteous and attentive service throughout. Theres... More

Would have never expected the great experience we were going to go through. As you enter the restaurant, you find yourself in an enclosed yard which is totally different than what you expect. Great atmosphere yet rustic! Food and service seems to be a trademark. In fact, when we were done, we were offered home made marmalade (for a price)... More
