I suppose it's the food that really counts, but the satisfaction of eating out is an all round experience. It was a cold, dark environment, but it had been recommended. We ordered just a main course and a beer. Had to ask the staff standing around twice for the drinks. Staff were not friendly, but maybe that's the Peruvian way,... More

We enjoyed the best food here over the 4 day stay in Ollanta. The fresh garden salad was enormous, and as we travelled through North Peru and Ecuador, we were often yearning for such a salad as veggies were getting hard to come by. The rolled up trout with stuffing was also excellent. We thought the price for the food... More

Nice location just along the little river, even if it would need a good housekeeping. The menu is short but quite satisfactory with traditional dishes nicely and modernly presented. There are also pizza cooked in a wood oven and salads. Unfortunately the service is very slow and little attention is given to the hosts (some tables had been waiting more... More

We ended up eating here twice, after La Esquena was closed. People describe a great atmosphere , but I found the completely empty restaurant a little strange. The smell from the wood burning pizza oven filled up the room. The soups were quite good, the chicken being everyone's favorite. It seemed a bit expensive for what you got.

Our first experience with Peruvian food and the food was superb. Staff very good and very laid back. It was an easy walk from our hotel. A very intimate restaurant

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist. We both tried the lomo saltado, which was plentiful and tasty. Ambiance was lovely and our server was pleasant. I would certainly recommend Mayupata.

We stopped here at the advice of our tour guide. The space is modern and clean. Service was prompt and efficient but maybe lacked a little warmth. We ordered a pizza to share, pepperoni, a burger royal and a side of vegetables. The pizza was wood fired and tasty. Thin crust, not too many toppings and big enough for two... More

this restaurant was close to our hostal, some people said that was the best but it wasn`t, it wasn`t very clean, the waitress was not friendly and our pizza was more bread with some cheese.

Great place for a pizza dinner. Just across the bridge in town, it was recommended to us and TA reviews confirmed it was worth a try. As with most places, pizza are cooled in a wood fired oven, and the pizza here was very tasty. If you order a Margarita, be prepared for a strong one! Beers are reasonably priced... More

We stopped in for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel. We were there early and the place was mostly empty so we almost left, but we're so glad we stayed. All the food was great, and the service was great too, but we particularly loved the alpaca appetizer we ordered. In fact, much to the amusement of our server,... More
