For me, Number 1 ! We loved it!

Our first night dinner at Puka Rumi was a special meal. We chose to share a serve of Alpaca Steak with mustard sauce and puréed spinach! It was mainly to have our first taste of Alpaca. We gobbled it up with delight. There were 20 of our friends at the restaurant that night and without exception... read more

Puka Rumi is a small upstairs restaurant in Ollantaytambo. We tried it for lunch today. Bright, airy, clean and spacious but slightly sterile. We were the only customers and the electricity was off. But we had one of the best meals of our trip in Peru. Burritos were huge, steak and chicken sanwiches were tender and tasty and chicken in... More

I came here to eat twice, once with a friend and once with a group of 6, including a local. The food was pretty good, prices on the more reasonable side, and the service on the slow side. Slow service seems to be the pattern in Peru, based on my experience, and we were in no rush, so I didn't... More

Lucky for us our hostel was right next door. We got guacamole and the usual Lomo Saltado. Great food, and ambiance as well as service.

Puka Rumi was highly rated on trip adviser, so I went to check it out. Honestly, this place seems like a more expensive local restaurant. They do a good job gearing the food towards gringo tourists, with wood-fired pizza, pasta, and “burritos.” But honestly, the place was quite expensive, and pretty underwhelming. The pasta was described as “freshly made,” but... More

We were recommended Uchucuta at the hostel, but it was full so ended up here. Intersting mix of peruvian, pizzas and mexican food. The aji de gallina was very good they were a bit slower when it got crowded but were up to it anyway.

After arriving late to ollanyantambo, we decided to head out for a quick pizza. We order one type of pizza and were brought another with no explanation. It wasn't that great. Then they didn't bring the rest of the order. Which was neither here nor there since the pizza we were eating wasn't that good and we felt it was... More

It was not very busy when we arrived but a table of 8 was just ordering and this set the kitchen way back. Two other tables entered after we did and the waitress took their orders first - I think she was just overwhelmed. This service issue is echoed in other reviews. Anyway, the food we had was good. What... More

This restaurant is run by the same family as the hostel below, Los Andenes. The food is really good, try the different soups or the burrito (really big), everything is good. The staff is applied, portions were quite big. The price is correct (for a touristic restaurant). If you dine here, do not forget a little coat, as it tends... More

This was very close to our hostel (Ollantaytampu Hostel) and was recommended to us so why not? We tried the alpaca steak which was a little overdone but I suppose that's how it's supposed to be prepared. The sauce that came with the mashed yuca/potatoes was quite good. The margherita pizza had the right amount of fragrant basil but lacked... More
