We were recommended this place by our budget backpackers hostel and were surprised at what we found. Such polished attentive service with excellent value (and I'm not just saying that after roughing it). We had a ceviche (well balanced tangy fish complemented by salad and some lovely fried seafood) and causa de cangrejo (creamy delicate crab meat between creamy layers... More

This place was one of my favorite eateries while being on my 8 month trip around central and south america. My friend and I ordered the Causa with Crab Pulp, Tuna Ceviche and Shrimp with Rice along with a Chilicano to drink. All three were amazing and incredibly flavorful. While the meal was a little more than we usually pay... More

Had the mixed ceviche for lunch. Delicious, fresh and filling. The service was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive and it didn't take very long to get my order. Interior is not very exciting, but definitely a good vibe at lunch.

came here with fiends last month for lunch. Certainly they serve generous portions but the quality of the food isn't that good so it left very much to be desired. It was a busy day and the kitchen took extra time to finish all dishes in my party which didn't help either. Probably will not come back since i believe... More

Had a wonderful lunch. Ate ceviche, aji de gallina and lomo saltado. The portions were generous and the food was fresh.

If you can't get into La Mar, as our situation over the busy weekend, just walked down the same street to La Red. Very very pleasant, excellent service, beautifully presented and tasty fish dishes. No fancy decorations. I think they do not use MSG because I was not suffering from the MSG effect of a burning tongue. Easy to chat,... More

I visited La Red on my first trip to Lima and La Mar was my first authentic experience of Peruvian ceviche. Coming in having no expectations let's just say I was more then pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the portions more then enough to share (and I'm a big eater!). Overall it was a great value for the... More

I actually went to this place only because it was crowded with locals. Error! Very average food. I had the octopus and an appetizer . Grilled octopus was raw and sticky.

I rated this place as average because the nearby competition (La Mar, El Embarcadero etc) is so four star.Tables are a bit squashed together and the noise level high. Not what you would call elegant by any means. However, the food is up to standard and the menu choice is good. Worth investigating if you happen to be in the... More
