Like always

I used to go to this restaurant since its very begginings, in a small place with just 6 or 7 tables, more tan 20 years ago. Here you find home made peruvian dishes, , and also different, new and creative ones. In that time, Jose was the cashier and barman, and Isolina, his mother, was at the... read more

La Red used to be one of our favourite cebicherias in Lima - excellent quality with generous, well presented servings of delicious food. But now they are serving smaller portions, poorly presented with much less panache and flavour. I can only imagine that the restaurant has new management, as even the feel of the place is different. I didn't recognise... More

This eatery is a product of guts and hard work by ISOLINA and hewr son, J. del Castillo. Begun years ago by a single woman burdened with children, Isolina sold super fresh fish dishes "on the go". Work spread like a good net, and she caught repeat diners with her excellent quality. Her son is now the King Fish and... More

la red was a very good restaurant with a good menu. We had the octopus but the portion was a bit smaller than what we have been getting in Mira Flores. The octopus was fresh and grilled nicely. We were there for lunch and it was packed. We had their tres leaches cake for desert and it was good but... More

Incredible seafood, huge portions. This place is only open until 5pm as they use fresh caught seafood only and consider it "less fresh" as the day goes on. You can absolutely tell this is the freshest catch. I enjoyed a plate of cebiche as well as a grilled mix and both were spectacular. Also, excellent service and nice desserts and... More

A very good value for money Cebicheria in the heart of Lima's seafood area. Their Chupe de Camarones was excellent.

Peruvian food has always been tasty, but usually it was also really cheap. The late trend of peruvian gourmandise has raisen the prices and diminished the portions. This is a nice place, though prices are getting a bit high. For example, a not so big plate of ceviche made with the 'catch of the day' (which means not really fine... More

Some Lima Rotarian buddies took us there for lunch around 1.30 pm. We had to wait to get a table for 5. It was well worth it ! We all had different choices and we were surprised about quality and plate presentation. Especially for lunch! Almost too reasonable for what they served us. Restaurant was located close to a huge... I had a dish that has both ceviche de pescado and cicharron de mariscos and it was super tasty. The nice lime juice of the ceviche mixes perfectly with the rest of the dish. I like that the fish was cut in nice chunky pieces that allow you to appreciate its freshness. Service spotless too. And the atmosphere is very... More

A place that started many years ago as a "cebiche" place has become one of the best traditional seafood places in Lima, and widened its menu to include almost a full range of Peruvian cuisine offerings (criolla cuisine). Not pretentious but clean, well organized and consistently offering good food. This is one place to visit to sample some of the... More
