I have tried French Laundry, Gary Danko & Plumed Horse in bay area. For around US$150 per person, you get to taste the best tasting menu yet. There are 2 dishes out of 28 dishes that are a bit off but nonetheless, the rest of them were awesome. The dishes have a very interesting flavor but they are balanced, not... More

We had really high hopes for this restaurant but we left disappointed. We ate in the al la carte restaurant as we couldn't get a reservation for the tasting menu. The menu was difficult to understand and our server couldn't provide much illumination. The good was ok, I had the lamb. It came as a minced sausage like portion whose... More

It was my first time in Astrid & Gaston Lima, after being in Caracas and Quito. The new venue is fantastic and the food outstanding as we have used. If you want to feel the best Peruvian food experience, this is the place to visit.

It's not always possible to execute perfection night after night. I get that. It's not always possible to meet the impossibly high expectations for being what some call one of the finest restaurants in the world. I get that too. But I was ready for a good time and an amazing meal - and I certainly wasn't looking to nitpick.... More

They just switched their tasting menu to a theme of "Memories of Our Childhood" so it had a lot of Peruvian food that would spark a memory with locals. Unfortunately for us, it did not have that emotion attached to it, but it was still very flavourful. I liked the tasting menu but I wonder how the previous menu was,... More

I have seen very many top restaurants in all continents and was really curious to try the allegedly best restaurant in Latin America. My expectations were particularly high, as I went there on my birthday, straight after a 5-hour flight. Truth be told, I had already tried its cousin in Santiago, a few years ago, and was disappointed. This one... More

The atmosphere and building are beautiful. Service seemed off tonight for a place like this. No explanation of menu or suggestions on how to order and other simple things (e.g., empty water glasses, food arrived before cocktails). I tried three dishes, including the broccoli tempura with blue cheese. This was really good.

Superb food, friendly and efficient staff, trendy setup. We couldn´t get a reservation 3 weeks in advance but we decided to try our luck once in Lima, and glad we did. Even though me and my friend were underdressed for this kind of place as we were on a backpacking trip, the staff was very welcoming and offered the possibility... More

I am not very fond of the restaurants developed by Gaston Acurio, but I have to admit the food in Astrid y Gaston is delicious. After going there forced by a business lunch, I was able to enjoy one of the best ever arroz con pato a la chiclayana (duck with rice cooked as it is in Chiclayo, a city... More

We were in Lima for a single day and we were very excited to try the tasting menu at Astrid y Gaston. We were certainly not disappointed - the food was delightful and delicious, it is highly imaginative and exquisitely presented. Each dish is tiny and delicate and combines flavours and foods, (many of which I was sure I would... More
