Amazing food, amazing service

I had read about Astrid and Gastón and was delighted when a Peruvian friend made a reservation for us for lunch. It did not disappoint in any respect. The restaurant is a modern attachment to one of Lima's historic mansions, the Casa Moreyra. Our knowledgeable server, Martín Villalua B., brought... read more

We had 2 large groups and they accomplished a very successful evening for us. We paid a lot of money for this experience and the food styles were awesome. The service was intense but the drinks were a little slow for the expense. The visual experience made up for it. Toilets were amazing make sure you check these out the... More

As a part of our culinary experience here in Lima we couldn't miss this landmark of a restaurant, of course, so we prepared ourselves for this 'not for the fainted heart' journey and tried the 28 courses menu ('Sabores de mi tierra', or 'flavours of my land'). I have to say, without being stingy, that is really not the best... More

Naively, in hindsight, I didn't know that Peru was a culinary capital of the world. This place flies the flag for Peruvian cuisine and is ranked #18 in terms of the Worlds Restaurants on some international sites. It lives up to its reputation and is surprising reasonably priced. If you can get your head around eating guinea pig, do it.... More

One of the best restaurants I ate at in Peru. The ceviche was the best and most unique I've ever had. The drinks are also very unique with herbs you would never think to put in a drink. We showed up a night early by mistake and they made sure we got a table, very accommodating and the service was... More

This restaurant was very elegant. Their staff was extremely professional and attentive to our needs. The ambiance was wonderful and before sitting us, they even showed us the kitchen which was very clean and met all of my expectations. This is an experience that is worth having at least once in your life.

I've had many amazing food experiences and this was the best I've ever had. Dinner was 29 courses with wine pairing and took just over 3 hours. The flavours / presentation / Service were unparalleled. Incredible work Astrid.

We were at the La Barra. The service was excellent and the staff was helpful. You could wish some more wine knowledge so you could get a better wine to the food. The dishes were nicely presented and delicious. We had two starters and a main course. That was way to much food so next time we will go with... More

I've traveled to many Gaston restaurants around the world, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, USA, etc. Being spoiled all over the world with two: (1) service, and (2) food, I must say I was disappointed with my experience tonight. Food was fine, as usual, not best as I usually expect. But what didn't follow was the service. Started fine, with Martin the... More
