Nothing prepared us for the superlative experience of eating in Astrid y Gaston. Too many incredible adventures in taste to relate here but be assured it was grandiose from start to finish, the food, the service, the decor...every little detail was an explosion of joy and creativity. And for a few hours, it gave us pure undiluted happiness....and the magic... More

Impeccable service, delicious 24 course meal, incredible wine... the only downside is that water is charged separately, which I find a bit tacky since it is the most up-scale restaurant in Peru.

The meal we had at La Barra was a highlight of a recent trip to Peru. The setting of the restaurant was beautiful and the meal stands out as one of the most memorable meals I have ever eaten. Started with a tortellini that was stuffed with goat cheese and mushrooms and topped with a zucchini based sauce that had... More

Since we didn't had a long period of time for a dinner we choose to go for the standard selection on the menu, which proved also to be a good option. This restaurant is very well located in San Isidro, inside an old farm where in fact they plant several of the vegetables used in their kitchen having it as... More

Meals at Astrid and Gaston were highlights of our earlier Lima trips. We were accordingly intrigued by the move over to the Casa Moreyra and booked into La Barra for lunch. The experience is very different. Here is all modern and clean, with a medium length menu and short, selected-for-the-day wine list. The menu centers on small plates which in... More

This is a must if you wish to have a food experience and are prepared for a 4 hour dinner show. Don`t go if you wish to have an ordinary meal. The evening for our visit they served a tasting menu with 13 dishes and the beverage package was 1 drink, 1 beer, 9 wines and 1 whiskey. Compared with... More

It was the first time i have spent so much money in a restaurant but i thought i should indulge myself to one of the best restaurants in the world, once in Lima. Albeit the small quantities (to be expected from a degustation), the food was very very good and the service impeccable. My key objection is that around half... More

We couldn't afford the main restaurant with its tasting menu for $300 plus per person so tried the "tavern" in the same building...wow what a great all round experience. The live music was contemporary world beat, the room has upside down plants, against an eclectic industrial ceiling, with a kitchen venting out its artisan fun producers . The experience is... More

My husband and I recently went to Astrid y Gaston for their degustation menu. This is one of those places where it's not just a meal, it's an experience. Firstly, the restaurant itself is a huge Colonial looking manor, I think at one point it was a home for some extremely wealthy people. The people having the degustation menu eat... More

Firstly, We had a reservation for 9:30pm so we arrived 9:20. They made us stay outside 45 min to order some drinks. One of us ordered one drink and they brought him another one. The problem was that they didn't want to change it so we paid for their mistake. After 45 min we got inside. The place was very... More
