This restaurant is truly awesome in every way! Astrid y Gaston is in a former mansion and is a beautiful setting for an upscale restaurant of world-class reputation. The setting is opulent, classic and a joy to behold. The kitchen was spotless, technologically impressive and efficiently laid out as expected from a world-class restaurant. The staff was white-glove, very attentive... More

Many dishes, all creative, some fun, some hard to understand, good pairings. Not too full, just right. Maybe a little hurried; there are no resting spots during this production. Enjoyed very much.

We tried unsuccessfully to get into Astrid and Gaston, so we decided to get dinner at their less formal restaurant next door, La Barra. At La Barra you order off a menu, mainly small plates that are much less formal and not strictly traditional Peruvian food, though all influenced from local ingredients and cooking methods. The food was delicious, though... More

Really a very nice place to eat, it is a show more than a restaurant. The only thing I did not like was when we told the sommelier that we did not want wine (as we had overdrank the day before), he got really disgusting.

I sometimes wish TripAdvisor allowed reviewers to give a score of six to reflect unbelievable excellence. If it did, this place would rate a seven. Thirty courses, each with remarkable flavour and creativity. Top notch service. Outstanding. Very possibly the best meal I've ever eaten, amidst many in lauded restaurants worldwide. Lima really is a centre of culinary excellence right... More

I'm not a fine dining kind of guy. I like things simple and done well. But Astrid y Gaston is one of those restaurants you have to visit in order to understand the Peruvian foodie scene and so I visited this place for lunch and my eyes were opened to the real deal. The food is impeccably served. The flavors... More

If you miss this restaurant while visiting Lima, you're missing out. We had a group of 6 and did the evening 30 course tasting menu--it was fabulous. There were probably only 2 or 3 things that I didn't care for. Everything was presented with care and thought (even the paint color and decor is changed out with the menu every... More

This restaurant is the closest thing to gastronomic heaven. the thirty course tasting menu was created by a master at the apogee of his craft. words cannot truly or accurately explain or describe the works of art. exquisitely presented. A delectable symphony. the wines are amazing and expertly chosen. first class service. and then he rested.... nothing better...ever.

I reserved a table for lunch last Friday for 3 of us and had the best meal of my 61 years - and I have traveled all over the world. Definitely make a reservation in advance for the tasting menu. 28 courses of uniquely presented, divinely concocted, and beyond delicious morsels of food that only the best of the best... More
