The tasting menu was not worth the huge price tag, did not accurately reflect Peruvian food, and did not have a cogent theme at all. Service was good, except at the end when the restaurant tried to charge us for some expensive water which was not even left on our table, and then tried to charge us an inflated price... More

This place is not to be missed for foodies! Don't get me wrong, it's not for everyone, but if you're into food, you will not be disappointed. Food, service and atmosphere was impeccable. Highly recommend!

We dined in the à la carte section (La Barra)--not in the more upscale set-menu dining room. Even so, our expectations were quite high given the reviews at hand. The exterior is impressive and the staff welcomed us nicely. But the dining room was plain, and very noisy with its tile floor and high ceilings, lacking in partitions or textiles.... More

A life-time experience by all means. Had the 28 course degustation menu with wine pairing of 11 mostly Spanish and Chilean wines. Incredible flavours and aromas all along, artistic presentation accompanied by expert explanation from maître and sommelier. Simple but tasteful setting in a relaxing atmosphere with excellent music, all of which allow you to enjoy this experience in an... More

Very good food. Excellent service. One of three really good restaurants we ate at, while at Lima. The highlights of the meal were the tiradito, the grilled octopus and suckling pig.

Alright, so a group of four of us planned going to Astrid y Gaston while in Lima. We knew that we would be coming off of four days of hard trekking in the Andes and wanted to end our vacation with a culinary experience. We planned this three months in advance. Having had similar tasting experiences at restaurants such as... More

The ambiance is divine. The service is impeccable. THe presentation of everything is mind-blowing. However, that is where the good vibes end. The tasting menu with wine pairings is $500USD per couple. The dinner itself lasted almost exactly 4 hours (not the 2.5 hours they state in the email). For such an expensive and time-consuming meal, there was tons (2+... More

A friend invited me to join her in sampling the menú de gustación that involved trying 27 tidbit-sized dishes. The welcome drink and first few dishes were particularly impressive, with the shifting flavors ensuring that your palate would not easily tire of the tasting experience. Every dish was artfully prepared, adding to the atmosphere of an elegant dining area. The... More

The 28 dish tasting menu had me tempted to leave by the 4th plate. The service is top notch and you get a good selection of wine tasting but the food was a joke. A very pompous display of incompatible flavors and strangeness. When I saw the bill I nearly died. I think Gaston is getting ahead of himself and... More
