The food wasn't as amazing as we had expected it to be. Especially as I woke up at about 6am the next morning with stomach pains and was sick for the rest of the day. It was also really cold in the restaurant, my partner had a particularly strong gust on him the whole night which they couldn't remedy and... More

I wanted to visit this place since it first appeared on the 50 best restaurants in the world. And I came to Lima for business and couldn't miss the opportunity. The place is lovely, a nice White house in San Isidro. Decoration is simple but modern. And the menu wow excellent. It took me a while to know what to... More

I attended a business dinner at the new location of astrid y gaston in Lima, Peru and it was fantastic. The new location is in a renovated colonial mansion -- Casa Moreyra. As you enter the courtyard approach to the restaurant there is a garden to the left where they grow some of the ingredients to the meals. The setting... More

The dinner experience at the new Casa Moreyra location was perfect and by far the best dinner we've ever had. We chose to include the wine pairing which only added to the experience. We enjoyed each and every course and thought the added touch of visiting the kitchen to meet the chef was unique. Be sure the go hungry and... More

Very disappointed. Don't understand how it can be one of the best restaurants in the world. Not to my taste at all.

I actually tried to book Central and Maido as well with no luck and very little feedback from them. La Barra Casa Moreyra confirmed my reservation instantly, which was amazing! The grounds and interior of Casa Moreyra are beautiful without being over the top or pretentious. Very nicely done with attention to detail, but not at all stuffy. Well-laid out... More

Astrid y Gaston is a truly great dining experience. Peruvian dishes take on a modern twist, cuy Peking duck style was a hit, sorry all children reading, rest assured, your pet guinea pigs are safe... The decor in La Barra is refined and understated. The service was somewhat like the Lima traffic - a little chaotic but eventually everything and... More

There are plenty of tables but I was sat on the bar! Cebiche is way to spicy. They put Anis on the Olive oil!!!! What a terrible idea! Bread is old?

We have been enjoying a culinary experience in Peru and it was disappointing to try one of Gaston's restaurant "Astrid y Gaston" where it seem to be and honest attempt to capture the different regions of Peru's cuisine in a highly sophisticated manner these attempts where unfortunately and disappointingly failed. Not to mention that all my guest and myself felt... More

Gaston Acurio is the most famous Chef in Peru. He has many restaurants, but this one is supposed to be his flagship. Located in a former, beautiful "hacienda" house, it is very classical outside, quite trendy inside. Go there with friends, as most dishes are to be shared - otherwise you need a solid appetite. The food is based on... More
