Excellent gastro food with Peruvian fusion

Excellent service and I was surprised by the creativity of the meals! The meals are Peruvian food inspired, so it's different from any other fine dining restaurants that I've been (and I've been to lots of good restaurants). They were really delicious! This review is for La Barra. I've been here for lunch twice and tried probably 5 or 6 dishes. Not a single one stood out! It sure looks pretty, but doesn't taste amazing. It's very disappointing considering the hype. What's worse is that I end up paying PEN150/$50 for very average food and OK service. I much prefer Lima27 next... More

An excellent place to discover the huge variety of Peruvian flavours. Delicate presentations in an elegant but cozy atmosphere in San Isidro, Lima's financial district. If you opt for a tasting menu, you will taste up to 20 recipes from starters to desserts that have been recovered from the "granmothers cookbook". Combine it with the wine-pairing option and you'll have... More

It was a great experience. Dinner was perfect from the Ceviche to the Chocolate bomb (you must order it and take a video when they bring it). I never had beef so tender that it was melting in your mouth... You better make reservations several weeks in advance as they are always booked solid. It's worth it...

While on a business trip in Lima, several different people recommended this restaurant. I took a group of 8, and due to the late notice, we were seated at La Barra - and we loved it. The look of the dining room was very unique, with an open kitchen and a unique ceiling with upside down potted plants (check the... More

My husband and I were vacationing in Lima, so we thought we should give this restaurant a try. We have heard nothing but rave reviews about Astrid y Gaston. While the meal wasn't bad (it was merely average), I didn't eat a single thing that justified the reviews I read or the high prices. I don't want to discourage the... More

Good food, very nicely presented. But nothing so fantastic. Cost benefit low. Ceviche was good, remade when asked for more picante. Cuy very nicely presented and tasty

On Friday August 21 2015 My guests and I arrived for our 7:00 pm dinner reservation. There had been a huge miscommunication, and we did not have a reservation at Astid Y Gaston, but rather they had moved us into the adjoining restaurant. I had explained over and over again that we had travelled from Toronto, Canada rearranging our entire... More

Dear Filomena P. We are really sorry because of the inconvenience experienced last week while being at Casa Moreyra. As we mentioned in previous communication we were not able to provide a table because the Astrid & Gastón restaurant was fully booked on that night. We have only 13 tables, and unfortunatelly there were no cancellations or no shows in... More

Astrid y Gastón has been an outstanding restaurant for many years. We did not go to the main restaurant where they offer a feast of samples due to food allergies. Instead, we went to La Barra, which is an a la carte style restaurant and it is also located in the same building (the old Casa Moreyra in San Isidro).... More

We have had some amazing food here in Lima but this was not it! Potatoes undercooked, meat fatty, sausage tasteless. Nothing to me is more annoying than when a restaurant rests on its laurels and can't provide quality and consistently that brought them to the forefront. My advice- skip this place and head to Le Mar and some of the... More
