Malabar is a great restaurant, where they serve real food, superbly prepared and presented, with a very pleasant mix of traditional ingredients and modern techniques. I believe this is one of those restaurants who contributed to make of Lima a great culinary destination. We were a party of two and had one 7-course menu and a number of dishes from... More

The food was outstanding and the barista received us with special Piscos that I have never had before. The cuisine was influenced by flavors from the jungle, and everyone was pleased with their choices. I give this restaurant top marks!

This is a real treat. After being elected No 11 of all Latin American Restaurants, we had to go. Went for lunch and were not disappointed. Amazed at the creativity, flavors, Peruvian ingredients, etc. It is a leisurely lunch to be sure...2.5 hours for 3 courses. Very helpful staff, but very little English. Since many of the ingredients are new... More

The food in Lima is simply fantastic. It is so refreshing to find a place with such passion about food. Using good quality ingredients (great fish and fresh produce) and enhancing flavors, rather than masking them, is what I think are the basics of great cuisine... and the Peruvians have excelled in this art. We read about Malabar and what... More

Highly recommended by two fine dining chef friends, we were really excited to go to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered the 9 course degustation with wine match, the flagship offering. At first we had a really nice cocktail each and 2 starters were sent our way, which although were also very lovely, were followed closely by the... More

Lovely decor with classy yet casual elegance. We elected to order mains and postres rather than tasting menu. In retrospect would probably try the tasting, as it seemed more varied and less risk in making a poor choice. To start, a smattering of tasty morsels will whet your appetite - from unusual beans (like giant edamame) paired with a delicious... More

Ingredients used to elaborate the seasonal menu cn make this restaurant pricey. We tried the Octopus to begin... Was really tasty but it was not that tender, though flavor was good. I tried the duck and mu fiance the paiche. Both plates were superb. For dessert we tries the chirimoya. Was one of the best desserts I have ever had.... More

Probably Central and Astrid Y Gaston are on the top of every foodie's list for Lima. To supplement that list I'd recommend a stop at Malabar and Maido, both offering a different, but equally amazing, perspective on Peruvian food. We dined here at lunch. The atmosphere was modern and classy, but comfortable. The potato with crispy quinoa was the highlight... More

The atmosphere here was business like and formal. Food was obviously in the creative sphere and represents something different and rare to find. We were not blown away by the tastes, but tried combinations we've never seen before. Many say that this restaurant does thing more complicated than they should. That may be so if you judge it in professional/gastronomical... More

Food was great but given the restaurants reputation I expected to be totally blow away. The sauce for the grilled octopus starter was great. Octopus itself was slightly over cooked. My entree was excellent. Worth your time and money. Fine dining on an international scale
