One of the best in town

We have to start with the idea that in the present time the best kitchen in the world (I'm not talking about exceptions but in general) is in Peru. Lima as the capital, has many of the best restaurants of this southamerican country, "Rafael" is a great example of it. No man in Lima goes to a... read more

Our friend in Lima recommended Rafael and I am so happy she did. Rafael doesn't get as much press as Central or Astrid y Gaston (we also went to both) but WOW, the level of detail, flavor and artistry of Rafael is another level. We had a long amazing lunch with incredible food and tasteful service. To summarize it best,... More

We had one of the best meals ever! Relaxed, elegant restaurant - white table cloths but laid back. Extensive menu (in English for visitors) with wonderful modern Peruvian/fusion food. The tuna carpaccio with foie gras was delicious as was the sea bass with a light curry sauce. Husband had boeuf bourginoun which was lovely, but quite rich. But the best... More

If I had to describe the food of Rafael with one word, I would say exquisite! I would go back again and again. Everything we tried was first class, the foie gras was out of the ordinary, I had never eaten it the way it is prepared in Rafael, it was absolutely delicious!

Small restaurant. Excelent food. Where the locals go. I had green fettucchini with fungui. The best! Their wine list is great. Reservation is a must.

When last in Bogota, ate at Rafael's and had a great meal. While visiting Lima decided to eat here. The original restaurant. Small and cozy. No dinner or drinks before 8pm! Seated promptly. Small restaurant filled quickly. Waiter Jaoa? Was great. Bread and accompaniments great. Pisco sour was so-so. Wines by the glass OK. Starter of Atun y Concha...great. Sweetbreads...very... More

High end food quality, service and price. We truly enjoyed our visit. Every thing was perfect, start with the host and our waitress to the food itself and the atmosphere.
