Having being unsuccessful in getting a reservation at Central I visited Cebicheria La Mar. What a great experience. Arrived for lunch without a reservation. Promptly received a table with local potato chips and three dips varying in heat. Had a trio of cerbiche which was really good. For the main course it was Tacu Cauche which was simply devine. The... Really fantastic, fresh seafood that matched the traditional expectations of Peruvian Ceviche. The diversity on the menu is hard to match anywhere - as is the exceptional quality of food-stuffs and the highly trained service. There are better Cevicheria's in Lima, but none seem to pull together the "total" package like La Mar.

Excellent service and food. The ceviche sampler of fish is very good but even better is the clam ceviche! If you plan to go before 2 pm, you should make reservations as there is a waiting line. After 2 it starts to be less crowded.

We have been in La Mar twice .One of our favorites lunch spots in Lima. The food is really good and the atmosphere also. They dont take reservations and is always packed.Everytime we go is a 3 hour lunch cause you just wanna keep eating and drinking there. The pisco sours have different fruit flavors worth trying them.

Nice, have come here before menus have changed. Food comes in great portions, but pricey. Also would recommend to reserve a table prior arriving as it can really get busy and perhaps a long wait is necessary. Atmosphere nice during summer months but colder during winter months - July to Nov. due to the layout of it being open.

You are in Lima! Is difficult to pick where to go since you are in one of the best cities to eat. Try as much places as you can.

Some people might think that the title of this review is extreme. It isn't. This is on my list of top 10 restaurants on the face of this planet. It's not just another Gaston Acurio restaurant(which by the way sets a high bar); it is the Mecca of Ceviche(Cebiche if you are in Lima). Everywhere you read it says to... More

We sat by the bar and Omar, our friendly server, brought us chips of papas nativas with a variety of savory and creamy sauces and some beers. Then, we had a wonderful causa with crispy fish chicharrones as an appetizer. It was served as if it were four pieces of sushi. The flexibility of the potato dough made each bite... More

The best food we've had in Peru, but sadly one of the worst services. We ordered an octopus with corn and potatoes that was the best I ever had. The ceviche samples are also very good. I recommend this place, but let me tell you what the service did. First there is a waiting list, they don't make reservations for... More
