Description: Saqra, from the Quechua language meaning “little devil”, “naughty” or...
Saqra, from the Quechua language meaning “little devil”, “naughty” or “mischief maker”. Saqra also refers to one of the characters found in the festival of the Madonna of Carmen in the village of Paucartambo, Cusco. Here, this happy little devil wins the heart of the Madonna with his childish pranks and mischief making as he dances around her playfully in the procession. These ideas inspired the creation of Saqra as a restaurant bar that offers modern Peruvian food where we reinterpret the Peruvian identity in a playful and contemporary key, conjuring up fun and colourful results. Saqra, in essence, is not really a place but a state of mind where this little devil plays a delightful host who wants that all his guests live a unique experience, where they meet again with their the inner child, sometimes long lost.

I came here for lunch on Tuesday while in town for some meetings. I had a break between meetings and this place was highly rated and close to the hotel. The service was friendly but a little slow. The Pisco Sour was boozy but in the wrong way, of all the pisco sour's I drank during the trip this was... More

Although the interior was very interesting we opted for the garden. We chose the cream of artichoke soup and it was the most delicious soup I have ever eaten . We continued with " osso bucco de seco" which is a very special Peruvian interpretation of osso buco . Very good . The service could not be more friendly (... More

The menu is small, but really interesting, catering for most tastes. The food was excellent. Our party of 6 had a range of starters, mains and desserts and all were excellent. The wine list is also small, but the selection is good. Staff are friendly and helpful and the place has a great atmosphere, in contrast to the bling of... More

I ordered ceviche for the first round $$$. Worth it, very decent. Second course was the octopus with risotto $$$. Que Rico! Very good, surprisingly good. I went for dinner and it was late and dark. I sat on the patio and the ambience was nice. The row of hedges kept the patio private and there were several couples there... More

The restaurant is a bit touristy but was a great place to try some Peruvian specialties. We had a strange ceviche at another spot during the day, so thought we'd try the mushroom ceviche here. It was delicious and a wonderful way to try the dish if you aren't a huge seafood lover. Overall we thought the food was good,... More

We were walking around the block from our hotel and noticed this interesting restaurant with a few people sitting outside. After walking around and back within 10 minutes the place was nearly full. Even without a reservation they managed to squeeze us in. We were very pleased they did. The food was delicious and having an Englih language menu to... More

Several years ago this place used to home one of the best restaurants in Lima, with a good bar, well decorated although small dinner area and the best Lenguado al Garlin which still is remembered in Lima. So, when you see today the simply decorated Saqra the first impression was of a sandwich place. No bar to enjoy, very simple... More

Our friends stumbled across this restaurant near our hotel. We ended up eating here for the 2 nights we spent in Peru. It's very colorful and charming. Our hotel provided a card for free pisco sours. It's a great drink, similar to a whiskey sour. I do not recall the name of what I ordered but it's a pork dish... More

Hello Andrea, Thank you for stopping by. You probably had the adobo, which is actually a breakfast dish from Arequipa. We are very glad to learn you had a good time with us. Enjoy spring weather in California, Joaquín de la Piedra SAQRA More
