Countryside mainstay

I have gone to this restaurant for years, and it has been consistently good. Lots of open green space for my son to run around in, and a little stream where the kids catch minnows in plastic cups for fun. The menu has not changed for all of the time I have been going here, but the food is... read more

A great place to spend the afternoon with the family and see how the country Peruvians eat and celebrate. There's music and a dance show. Try the pachamanca for 2 that really feeds 3. It's a lot of different meats cooked in a stone oven with potatoes, bananas, sweet potatoes and a bunch of other delicious items. It's delicious and... More

I went with my girlfriend family to this restaurant, place is very cool and beauty but the cost and relation food/flavor/size is very distant. I think that there are many restaurants in Cieneguilla with best food and cool prices.

If you have some time at hand and want to explore further afield from Lima, then Mesa de Piedra is a good choice, particularly if you have children. A little over an hour away from Lima, MDP is located on the river side in a town called Cieneguilla, traditionally one of Lima’s preferred countryside locations for a Sunday lunch with... More

This time we only went during the afternoon to eat "Picarones" so I can not rate other type of food served in this place. The service was OK, but the picarones and the beverages were good. The best part was to watch the kids enjoy the trampoline, slides, bridges (rope), other attractions that they have for them.

I took a group of 20 people that I work with here in Lima (all ex-pats) and my bosses visiting from the US for a relaxing day at Mesa De Piedra #2. Some of us changed to go swimming and one of the children left her tennis shoes in the bathroom by the road. A couple hours later when she... More

Restaurant ambient is nice, with good food and a nice show. The problem though is that unless you are very careful they will, literally, try to steal your money by charging outrageous prices for simple items. In my case my brother had asked for a jar of "chicha morada", and i followed later with another one. Now, it is important... More
