Rafeal Osterling is one of my favorite chefs. Between the meal at El Mercado and dinner at Rafael, I would move to Lima just to eat. The octopus, tuna carpaccio and the ceviche were spectacular. I also recommend the Aji De Gallina for the non-seafood lovers. We had a large group so we were able to taste many of the... More

The food is beyond delicious, the octopus is amazing, cooked to perfection. The cebiche Mercado is a perfect combination of fresh fish and panfried squid, i simply love the Tiradito Exotico, a mix of seawater delicacies, the sandwich of chicharron zafado is very good but small, desserts are all good, the drinks complement perfectly. The only thing is you have... More

My husband and I already knew and loved La Mar (one of Gaston's other restaurants) so we decided to try El Mercado for lunch on the one day we had in Lima. What a great choice! The space is airy and comfortable, the service was polite and attentive, and the food...oh the food! Everything we ate was fantastic, from the... More

The atmosphere was very clean, modern and nice. We came for late lunch around 3:30 PM and got seated immediately. The service was friendly and fast. My Wife, Niece and I were the only tourist in the restaurant. The crowd of locals consisted of Peruvian upper class people having lunch and drinks (early happy hour). The seafood was deliciously prepared!!!... More

Went here for lunch, tried various seafood dishes; their Parmesan-covered oven baked scallops are to die for! The place has a fun, breezy atmosphere.

The restaurant is great for a fresh Peruvian lunch on one of the hot days in Lima. Located in Miraflores the place is easy to reach and quite chilly on a hot sunny day. Therefore I would recommend not to go there at night or in winter since it could be too cold. The food was delicious and of high... More

Went to Mercado for lunhc with our group of 9. Asked the waiter to bring out their 5 best ceviches, and they did not disappoint - all were very fresh, innovative, and delicious. The causas were also excellent, as were the small sandwiches on the menu. A relaxed yet festive dining experience.

Had lunch on Sunday. Managed to walk in about 1pm after which it was very busy. Excellent food in a fun atmosphere. Service a little slow.

Sat at the bar today, service was good from the guys and the restaurant is nice. Looks very similar to La Mar on the inside. I Ordered the pulpo a la parilla ( grilled octopus) and uñas de cangrejo asada (crab claws).. Presentation was decent not plated super fancy but good enough..but the food was just utterly bland. The octopus... More
