Very tasty and well prepared food- good service too. The tiny sandwiches have big taste. Long wait though and loud/crowded, not much room between tables. A little upscale and trendy- a place to see and be seen. I go there for the food and company with me! ;)

If you visit Lima and you like eating then you must must go to Le Mercado. We were in Lima for 2 days and we went there every day. I recommend you sit at the bar, the bar tender and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is fresh, drinks are good. Staff are exceptional.

Great place for lunch in Lima, beautiful people and marvelous food. Fresh sea food along with exotic varieties of Peruvian species. Highly recommended !!!

I am not a ceviche lover, however, that was because I had not have the opportunity to go to El Mercado. The ceviche and tiraditos are incredible. The waitress are very nice and they try to share their knowledge about the food. The place is informal but very nice. Highly recommended!

Quick take: if you have the time and money, great. This is not a must-eat-here for us. We had high expectations for El Mercado based on the long lines, inability to get reservations even several days in advance and the other reviews. We arrived shortly after 1p on a Sunday, about 30 mins after the restaurant opened, and had a... More

Wonderfull lively atmosphere, waiting to be seated is not a boring experience as you have to wait with chips and a drink in the busy entrance. Service was very accurate and friendly. Food was very good quality and correctly priced. Will be back. Kristof

The cooler, younger project of Rafael Osterling (the other being the upscale restaurant named after himself), one of the most talented young chefs in South America. Although one finds some flair and twists here and there, everything revolves around the ingredients. The ceviche mixto sureño is a beautiful integration of a herb-based leche de tigresa, prawns and scallops done to... More

We did not have reservation and even that we needed to wait a little for the table it was one of the best food experiences in whole Latin America. While awaiting we were served snacks and drinks. We ordered 3 plates to share and we enjoyed every bit of them. Visit strongly recommended

For people that like food, a visit to El Mercado is an absolute must. Be aware though, the place fills up FAST so you should either arrive at least 10 minutes before they open (12:00 noon, on Sundays), or make a reservation. We arrived without a reservation at 12:10 and had to wait nearly an hour for a table. But... More

My favorite Octopus in the grill, as always velvety creamy and soft. The Exotic Tiradito, with shrimp and sea urchin was short of espectacular. accompanied with a piscina sour and the love of my life, can't ask for more
