Simply superb - great staff, amazing menu and some very creative cuisine. Went there for lunch with small children in tow, so less time to spend at the table, which meant we couldn't opt for the full degustation menu; will leave this for our next visit but looking at a nearby table it looked terrific. We ordered a la carte... More

Beautiful, cozy space. Professional, courteous attention throughout. Every detail of the food - from the bread to the appetizers to the entrees to the dessert to the after-dinner gelatin bites (one is of pisco sour!) - is creative and a pleasure to experience.

I am spoiled rotten food wise, especially after more than 100 trips to and around Peru and to many gourmet places in the world. So, despite all my non-Peruvian friends telling me this was a "must go to" place I was a bit hesitant when this time I did decide to take an online reservation something like six weeks ahead... Lima being a culinary capital of the World was news to me but you only need to visit Central to discover that it is. The 'Elevations' Menu was unique and the food was terrific. The Restaurant is attractive and the service efficient and unobtrusive. The owner / head chef checking on you after your meal is a nice touch!

After I saw a write up in the Wall Street Journal about this restaurant, I attempted unsuccessfully to procure a reservation for the 17 course high altitude tasting menu. I only had 2 nights in Lima: Friday and Saturday. However, I heard from friends that I could sit at the bar and have tapas, desserts and drinks without a reservation.... More

We had a great evening at central with a nice table close to the kitchen were we could very well see our dishes being prepared. The mater elevations menu is great not only in look but also in tastes. If you are a winelover it might be better not to take the terroir drink pairing. Half of these are not... More

This was my third visit to Central (all for lunch). From the minute you enter the airy and spacious dining room to the artful dessert presentation, it doesn't disappoint. Please, if you're looking for an all-you-can-eat buffet, this is not your place. Service is paced, plates are works of art, flavors are intricate and fascinating. This is an adventure. And... More

Don't miss Restaurante Central when you visit Lima. You will have an extraordinary culinary experience! My husband and I had the "Corto Central," a tasting menu that includes 16 delicious dishes served on stones and other organic materials. It's no wonder that Central is rated among the best restaurants in the world. Not to miss!

I have been reviewing for quite a while now and if you read my reviews most of the time Imsay the portions were large enough to share or bring home. This is the first time in my life the portion was so small, that I did not offered anyone a bite to state because that would have meant giving up... More
