Fabulous food superbly presented

We had their tasting menu that consisted with eleven small dishes served sequentially. Each had a name such as Spiders on a Rock, or Lake Floor and was served on a unique serving

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. The service was impeccable and every detail was just simply PERFECT! Plan ahead though. Everything from the presentation to the mixtures of tastes that explode in your mouth. Certain dishes stand out, but all were good. Make sure to have dessert, worth the calories. You walk through a very... More

Rated amongst the best in the world, and in our opinion, deservedly. Two of us has the Mater Elevations tasting menu and it was great, as was the service and atmosphere, both to the level expected for such a treat.

The most highly rated restaurant in Latin America, Central doesn't need a sign outside. Even knowing the address we had a lot of trouble finding it. Once you go through that unmarked entrance, however, you are served and fed like royalty. Supposedly you should reserve at least a month in advance, but we tried for dinner 3 weeks out and... More

We booked Central 1 month in advance. We travel to eat and the No. 1 restaurant in Latin America was a must for us. We did the "Mater Alturas" tasting menu. I completely agree with other reviewers, for the experience this place is well priced. For a 17 course menu for 2, a bottle of wine and cocktails, including tip,... More

Central lived up to the international hype. We try to dine at a Michelin star restaurant everywhere we travel. Central was the best yet. They each have their own strength, but Central was more tasty than Vun, had more artistry than State Bird, and was more creative than French Laundry. Ranked the best restaurant in Peru for three years in... More

Great food, using all the Peruvian spices, very small servings, except for the entree dish, good serving portion very delicious! this restaurant is not for everyone, it's only for people that appreciate and want to taste this type of food. Expensive you must have a reservation. The restaurant is hard to find because it doesn't have a sign. Not your... More

Don't overthink, it is the place to experience the best Peruvian food in town. Go straight for the degustation menu that comprises dishes organized in accordance with altitude. Once in a lifetime experience.

On a general note, I am tired of being disappointed by these top rated chefs in Latin America that only cook to please reviewers and other chefs! We the customer deserve the SAME treatment. I cannot fathom why this pretentious place is the NUMBER ONE restaurant in Latin America, I can easily think of other 10 restaurants in Lima that... More

The presentation was amazing. But, I like more tradition. They had an 11 course altitude menu. The had menu items found at below sea level and above a certain altitude. For example sea snails at low attitude and mushrooms at a high altitude. When all was said and done, I found it amusing but would not return. They food was... More
