Very acommodating staff

We had an overnight stay in Iquitos and came to pop by with some colleagues at "the yellow rose of Texas". The decoration is utmost interesing and the staff very kind and helpful. The food is excellent and the drinks likewise - try the Pisco Sour - GREAT STUFF ( but dangerous ). The place stops... read more

Here, there were claims of being the best rated restaurant in Iquitos on the signage outside. Not sure what that means for other restaurants but this one was distinctly average - a 3.5*. But, it is well placed next to the Plaza de Armas, close to the waterfront and very visible with its bright awning and signage. Inside it is... More

I rated this restaurant as very good because it has good food, great location, efficient staff, and a fun atmosphere. Be aware there are items on the menu that you should not have, example Alligator, and the English numbers and Spanish numbers do not line up, which means you might end up with the wrong dish if you can't speak... My wife, a friend and I were looking for a restaurant around the Plaza de Armas. Loved the the friendly attitude from both the waitresses and Pamela, who is one of the owners. Never saw the owner's husband, whom I have read negative comments about. We ordered local dishes and they were all delicious. The patarashca, cecina con tacacho and... More

Iquitos is a noisy city filled with motorcycles. In the midst of that chaos, near the water, is a delightful restaurant known as the Yellow Rose of Texas. Its opened 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Its owner, Gerald and his beautiful wife treat you like long lost family members. The service is top notch and it soon... More

We came here to escape a rainstorm and we ordered a sharer platter type thing. It wasn't very good and we left most of it which is unusual for us! The drinks were ok but the food was not nice at all

Was recommended this place by somebody who knew the area well. It is interesting and reflects the owners personality but the food was bland and relatively expensive. Did not bother to go back again.

A group of us (10 people), showed up for dinner. We ordered our food and waited a long time for it to be served, which happened at very different times for each person. I ordered what I thought would probably be the best dish in the house, definitely one of the more expensive, the "fillet mignon charcoal". I expected it... More

We ate here twice and enjoyed it both times. We didn't find the food that expensive and the service was good. It is a quirky and interesting restaurant in a convenient location.

Horrible food and way too expensive. We couldn't even eat what we ordered. We met the owner on a previous visit and he was so racist. I'm not sure why we ate here except that it had air conditioning.
