Steaks and Veggies--All Good!

The Brawny Sherpa is a carnivore, so any restaurant that incorporates the word 'steakhouse' into its name is a draw for him. I'm a vegetarian (vegan at home), and am happy to report Uchu does a great job with the vegetables. We would both eat here again--if only we didn't live in New York! Uchu is... read more

This restaurant was tucked away and didn't look too inspiring at first glance but what a wonderful meal and beautifully presented. It was Valentine's Day (which my husband chose to ignore!) but I was presented with a beautiful red rose for the table. Very special. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in Cusco.

My husband and I dined at Uchu in February 2015 after spending several day up at Machu Picchu. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. All the staff was extremely friendly, and our waitress Kathi, was extremely knowledgeable for any questions we had on the menu as well as attentive. The wine... More

First of all, let me state that the wait staff were wonderful; very accommodating and interested in our experience. Secondly, while a timid eater, the dish containing the alpaca, lamb and beef steaks on a hot stone was a surprisingly delicious meal. Wine selection excellent. Plating and presentation excellent. Elvis? Excellent also! Do NOT miss this opportunity for fine dining!

My wife and I stumbled on this place by accident whilst wondering around Cusco in the afternoon and decided to try it that evening, we walked in and were immediately asked by the waitress if we had booked a table we said no but were shown to a table for two. I had beef steak my wife had alpaca we... More

A pretty average meal at an above average price. Atmosphere was a bit hotel-y and overall we left with the feeling we could have done better. Food was serviceable and not bad in any sense but I don't think it merits its current ranking.

We were a group of 7 from Oz, found Ruth very attentive and a fantastic waitress!!! We were surprised with the quality of red wine and presentation of the dishes. They nailed the flavours and has been one of the best "gringo" Restuarants on a 5 1/2 trip of South America

My partner and I are in Cusco for four days on a business trip, we scoured Lonley Planet & TripAdvisor for a nice place to eat and after reading several of the reviews here, decided to give Uchu a try. This restaurant is amazing! Ruth, our waitress was super hospitable & offered advice in fluent English. The food is incredible!... More
