It is the only gourmet restaurant of typical local food. We do not make fusion style. Located in the old palace of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui, we have vegetarian options. In Deva you can found the ancestral cuzco culture through its gastronomy. It is atended by its own owners. We have different Peruvian wines and piscos, and you can enjoy, if you wish so, the traditional "chicha de jora", drink that the Incas offered to the Sun in the Inti Raymi

Delicious Lomo de Alpaca

Right after hours traveling back from Machu Picchu we decided to try Deva Restaurant, which is 100m from our hostel. We ordered a Lomo de Alpaca with quinoa, papas nativas and salad. Chose this authentic-looking place for ts availability of cuy chactado, that is whole marinated and fried guinea pig, kept flat in the frying pan with a few stones. Friendly staff invited us into the kitchen to watch it being cooked and take pics. The view of the head still attached could be unsettling for sensitive viewers ;-) but the serving... More

Deva was recommended by one of our guides, and we are so glad that we listened! This lovely, small restaurant was complimented by the lovely young woman who served us and took the time to explain about dishes as well as crops used to make them...and it was with her encouragement and suggestions that we tried guinea pig! She promised... More

Deva is located a few meters from the Novotel on Saint Augustine street. It was our very first restaurant we went to in Cusco. From the moment we stepped in we were delighted with absolutely everything. Device ad good were great. The waitress gave us a complimentary Chicha each (corn beer) along with delicious corn snacks. We had never seen... More

Recommended by our guide, this restaurant was interesting. The food was quite good but the waiter declined to offer us our change.

We wanted to have a typical dish/plate from Peru. Our tour guide from Viventura, Edwin, brought us here. It was one of the best plates we had until now in Peru: the osobuco was very tasty,my pork was gorgeous. And my pisco sour, fresh made, was yammie. At the end our waiter (William was his name?) gave us some information on the... More

Had it not been for a culinary tour of Cusco, organized for us by Sungate Tours, and conducted by Deva's chef, Federico, we would never have discovered his "restaurante tipico", so we were lucky. Our personally prepared lunch is available on the menu but we had the benefit of visiting the kitchen. Don't miss the chupe, a traditional soup made... More

Good food, and the waitress was really great. Nice explanation and display of local varieties of corn, potatoes, and quinoa. Made great suggestions, and did so gently, while listening well. Impressive especially for a server who was probably 16. We rarely judge restaurants on service (and focus on taste and value), but this service was noteworthy. The rocoto (red pepper)... More
