Description: This restaurant is INCREDIBLE!! They have an amazing mix of American, European, even African/Indian foods with traditional Peruvian mixes/accents. The decor is enough to make anyone fall in love with this locale alone. I found it because it was featured in the new edition of Lonely Planet and the food and drinks are to die for. It was by far my favorite restaurant in Cusco; I even went there twice! Absolutely delicious.

While in Cusco we visited this restaurant. Staff was great- spoke english Food and drinks were good too! You can pay in Sol (peruvian dollars), US or credit card. This restaurant also has an amazing view- you can walk onto the roof where you can see over the city and the light up Jesus at the top of the mountain.... More

I have been to Marcelo Batata on several occasions and their food is just simply amazing. The fresh food is being prepared in an open kitchen and they are happy to change the meals depending on your preferences. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy, great views from the terrace and good service. I just wish the food was a... More

Marcelo Batata was full of foodies from all over the world, and deservedly so. Our causita, an appetizer with sesame encrusted chicken, was melt-in-your-mouth--our party of four should have ordered many of them. My lamb with 3 cheese sauce was amazing--tender and delicious, and Carmen, our server, was gracious and helpful. All good, and in off-season we didn't need the... More

The quality of the food was simply superb, great service, a fun atmosphere and the best Pisco Sours we had in all of Peru. Don't miss it if you can help it.

Although from the outside hard to see, this is one of Cusco's treasures. The inside may look a little "simple" but the food (I got Lomo Saltado") was the best I had in Peru. Also very happy and polite servants.

We wanted a light meal the night before we started the Inca Trail. Marcelo Batata had been recommended to us by our hostal owner and we weren't disappointed. We both had the ginger, mint and lemongrass chicken soup and it was amazing - so simple but so tasty.

Our second Peruvian restaurant and another great meal. The decor was nice and pleasant. We sat at a table overlooking the kitchen and watched the chefs prepare our meals. I had the the alpaca steak with the hot chili sauce. It was very spicy but not overwhelming. Also included was a variety of vegetables and side dishes that the chefs... More

My spouse and I had dinner at Marcelo. We had the alpaca steak with chilies and the chicken with goose berry sauce and potatoes. The alpaca was great, particularily if you like spice and zing. The chicken was also good, but was not as flavourful as the alpaca. Service was very attentive. Free potato chip apps were served. Prices were... More

We stumbled upon this place & didn't know unit later when we saw it in our guide book that it was so highly recommended. It's deserving of the recognition. We ate lunch on the rooftop terrace on a sunny day in September. Two of us ordered the quinoa and vegetable soup & another ordered the alpaca steak. We went for... More
