We had dinner one evening on the rooftop of Marcelo Batara's. The food was really good, but the view was incredible. We split a bottle of wine and watched the sun set on the city.

We actually ended up here because Uchu wasn't able to seat us until 3 hours later. This turned out to be great for us as we did Uchu the following evening and Marcelo Batata was much better!
Here is where we tried Alpaca. I have to say, we tried alpaca in several places and I am just not a fan...

While we were in Cuzco we wanted to try the alpaca (lama). A google search for best alpaca in Cuzco brought us to Marcelo Batata.
The restaurant is situated in a nice part of the old town. It's nicely decorated, has a relaxed atmosphere.

Although we went here for alpaca which was good and the appetizer guinea pig was as well the chicken we ordered was amazing. Also the fruit juice drink was great and came in a giant glass. Cost for 4 was under $20 each only had 2 main courses and 2 appetizers.
What a joy to learn about the varieties of culinary products available in Peru and then get to prep and cook a couple of dishes in not one, but two world class restaurants.
Thank you Eric for your talent, humor, knowledge and great company!
I look forward to visiting your restaurants in Cusco again in the future and hope to...

Fabulous food wonderfully presented with friendly staff. Cozy place with magnificent view from the roof patio.
This restaurant offers a great choice of Peruvian gastro food. We were all very happy with our meals. The view from the rooftop over the cathedral and the Cusco hills is as well wonderful. Great place to spend some time tanning after lunch!
Love this place! Professional service and good food! Go for the Alpaca Wild Mushrooms, I loved it! Yummie Yummie!
