Great Peruvian food

Went for a quick meal and stayed a while. We ate local trout and lamb. Both were exceptionally good. Luciano, our host, explained that he accesses the produce from farmers that he knows and provide the quality raw materials. The kitchen does the rest. The Incredibly gracious host, Luciano, opened the doors for us way before normal hours! His establishment is absolutely gorgeous inside. The menu contains perfect examples of Peruvian dishes such as Cuy, pollo saltado, and alpaca. Our group speaks very little Spanish, but Luciano was very patient and helpful. After visiting several other restaurants in the city of varying price ranges,... More

The owner host you in very warm, home feeling. Very caring service, and most importantly really good food, that you can easily feel that has been prepared with love and creativity. We had lamb ribs and a stuffed hot pepper and both was mad to perfection

If you want to try Guinea Pig in Peru this is the place to do it. We ordered the roast Cuy the day before so we didn't have to sit and wait the >1 hour for it to cook and we were not disappointed. Luciano was very helpful in explaining how to eat the Guinea pig and how much food... More

My seat mate on the flight to Lima recommended Kusikuy. After getting lost for almost fifteen minutes, we finally climbed the last set of stairs and sat down. I had promised a good local meal and was now afraid that after the long flight of stairs and the circuitous route that I may not be able to deliver. Kusikuy did... More

We had tender and flavorful grilled alpaca kebobs and roasted guinea pig. Luciano was very helpful in explaining the dishes and how to eat the guinea pig using our hands. We highly recommend this candlelit restaurant.

Very friendly service in a wonderfully decorated house. Well worth taking the time to climb the steps to this restaurant. Wide selection of food including local specialities. The Cuy takes an hour from order to table. Lovely fresh juices. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely candlelit restaurant at the top of town, it's hard work climbing all the steps but definitely worth it! We opted for the roasted guinea pig with corn, stuffed pepper/Yorkshire pudding thing and potato croquettes (my translation), and alpaca steak in red wine sauce with creamy quinoa, both dishes were a little unusual for a European palette...
