Whether or not you are vegetarian, a vegetarian meal is a good choice as you get used to the altitude. Food is good and reasonably prized. A wonderful bonus is for one year old Jesu ( spelling?) to blow you a kiss.

The El Encuentro restaurants in Cusco (there are two) are the best place I have found so far for vegetarian food. I like the veggie burgers, though the Peruvian menü is the most popular lunch choice coming with soup, salad buffet, an entrance and a drink (usually an infused warm water) for only 7-8 soles (depending on which location you... Excellent vegetarian food. Try the soups. It is a small restaurant near Plaza de Armas. Excellent vegetarian food. Try the soups. It is a small restaurant near Plaza de Armas.

We were really surprised with this find, actually recommended by another veggie tourist who I ran into the day before. The set menu is really a bargain and although not so big, it still fills you up really with together with a fresh juice. If you don't like the set menu there are plenty of menu options to choose from.... More

A rare find - good value and heaps of all vegetarian menu options from burgers, soups, salads. I couldn't finish having ordered a Royal Burger which had fried egg and a double patty and a mountain of veggies plus chips.I also had a decent hot chocolate. The decor is basic but reflects their ethos well. Central location.

Cute little restaurant conveniently located near Plaza de Armas. My friend and I ordered veggie burgers which were both huge portions, although the soy patties were a bit tough. The strawberry juice with milk was delicious though.

Well, there's another location at Choquechaca 136 (walk straight up the street and turn left). And there the lunch is 7 soles. It comes with a mate, a soup and a daily special. Perhaps you'd want to avoid the pasta as they can't cook it right at this altitude (because the water boils at around 86c/187f) Otherwise, the food is... More

The Menu of this place is varied, besides classic Veggie dishes, they also sell Peruvian classics, replacing meat with soy-based "meat". The menu, consisting of soup, main course and a tea for 5 Soles at night is the best you can get for this unbeatable price.

I'm usually not one for a meal without meat. However this place changed my mind. The food was delicious, homemade, and inexpensive. I had the vegetarian sandwich, soup, and salad....all for 14 soles and it actually filled me up! I heard about this joint from a local, so you know it's legit. Great deals on a set menu and a... I usually go to have dinner at EL ENCUENTRO after visiting the hare krsna temple whoch is situated in the same st. Its just 5 soles and really worthy. You get an integral bread, a warm soup made with care. Mostly i have the feeling that curry is one of their ingredients. Then you get a nice, decent, tasty meal.... More
