local food in a colonial patio and house in San Blas

Even if this place caters mainly to tourists it offers good local food at reasonable prices. The patio of the restaurant is nicely decorated and during the day a calm and pleasant place to eat trout, meat, pizza from the wooden oven, potato varieties, local stews and soups, fried guinea pig (better... read more

My daughter, 11 and I were in Cusco for two weeks with friends running a local hostel. In different groupings we ate at Pachapapa three different times while there. It was within walking distance to where we stayed. We always found the service to be attentive, maybe a tad slow, but I felt that was the way of the country... More

Our first introduction to this place was walking into a semi-rustic but still formal open courtyard with a large oven in the middle. Followed up shortly by being warmly greeted and shown to a table in the courtyard, under an umbrella with a large gas-fired outdoor heater close by. The service was uniformly prompt and good when needed, but generally... More

We asked what dishes could be prepared without garlic since my wife has a serious allergy....the chef said he refused to change a dish.....not the sign of someone who is truly a chef, since I have seen many who create fantastic dishes without garlic.

We came here on Valentine's Day dinner without reservation and ended up sitting with another couple at a large table- but we still had our privacy. We had the option to sit inside but even though it was little chilly, we decided to sit outside, because the atmosphere was really lovely and romantic with the heating lamps and candles, oven... Good location in Plaza San Blas. We had great pisco sours and some other pisco drinks.. The soups were delicious.. All the recommendations made by Panchita were amazing.. We had cuyo (and saw the cooking process in the beautiful oven in the patio), lamb, alpaca anticuchos.. Good size portions (no space left for desserts) Again, great attention by Panchita! Gracias... We were recommended to this restaurant by our hotel and were thoroughly pleased with the outcome. The restaurant is a quaint facility in San Blas with indoor and outdoor dining options The food is traditional Peruvian, also with a few options for the less adventurous Service was great and the prices fair
