When you go inside you will see how big the place is... they have at least 100-150 tables!! The place is huge!! BUT they do not take a long time taking your order or bringing the food. Rocoto relleno is good, but you need to have luck not to get the most spicy ones... Camarones are awesome, anyway you have... More

This place was awesome. The biggest meals you have ever seen, authentic food, good service and a nice setting. The soup was my favourite (but too big for one person). We were impressed that we managed to leave our camera here and when we phoned later to see if it was there they had it and so we managed to... More

We asked few local guys for a recommendation for local food. All pointed this place. when we finally got there, we found a big place, full with locals which is always a good sign. The waitresses dressed with authentic dressing and were very kind, though a bit slow.. Dishes looked great in the menu. My vegan wife could eat only... More

Having read this Arequipan picanteria was supposedly the choice of locals, we happily confirmed this was true rocking up on a Sunday. The (huge) place was absolutely packed out, and barely a tourist in sight! The classic doble plate did not disappoint; a deliciously spicy rocoto rellano, a potato cake you couldn't jump over and slabs of succulent (if slightly... More

Normally we don't eat a lot of fried food. But today we had a choice of fried lamb ribs (my partner is Basque) and how could we resist! Also we viewed others eating crawfish that was fried and it looked delicious. Soooo. We had both along with a couple of local beers....a meal to die for. A perfect in Arequipa... More

We ordered: Ocopa a lo antaño - a potato dish with a creamy type sauce (20soles) this was tasty and fresh and came with a delicious piece of fried cheese. Soltero de queso (19soles) - this was also nice and fresh and contained lots of cheese (uncooked) and carrots, broad beans, corn with a light dressing. Chupe camaron - similar... More

Food was excellent, but we made the mistake of ordering two main dishes. One main is enough for two people to share. Jug of Limonade is definitely worth the money. Great place, full of locals and local food.

If you are really hungry, this is the place to eat! This place was recommended by our tour guide Liz from Costamar Travel. She warned us that the serving portions were big, and she was not kidding. This restaurant is big in size. I don't think i have ever been to a restaurant that it will take me 10 minutes... More

To start, we've been there around 4:15pm and they close at 5:00pm. We were returning from The Colca Caynon. More

I went there in a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was packed with both locals and tourists (domestic and international). I had the Doble which comes with Rocoto Relleno (stuffed peppers), Pastel de Papa (basically the Peruvian version of gratin dauphinois), Choclo (corn), some cheese and a salad. If you are a big eater, it's right up your alley! My... More
