I've had much better Moroccan and Middle Eastern food elsewhere. I have a falafel sandwich which was dry (no tahini) and falafels were not that great. The pita bread they served with all the dishes was odd; not like anything I've had before. The chicken came by itself; 2 pieces in a bowl of sauce. We ordered a side of... More

Enjoyed the change (I love the regional food but I am used to having food from a variety of cuisines and glad there are now more alternatives in Arequipa). Tasty, good food, good service, expensive for the local market.

I dined solo tonight, the only really good part of which was that I didn't have to feel even a tiny bit guilty about not sharing a single bite of my delicious meal. A first course of lentil and vegetable soup (the exact name of which I don't remember, but the menu description is clear) was savory and very satisfying.... More

As an israeli, i've had my share or narguila(shisha), hummus and falafel. The nargila was bad at first, but the waiter replaced it for a better one, without me needing to ask, which was great. Later, everything went bad...the waiter took forever with the dishes(me and my english friend were almost the only ones there). The falafel was ok, but... More

The menu at Ras El hanout is very different from many other places in town, and at some point you will want something other than the typical meals that are so common in Arequipa. We particularly like anything that I would call "middle eastern" which is hard to find in Arequipa, and so we were happy to find Ras El... More

I had the hummous and beet smoothie, both which were light but filling and really flavourful. (I´ve had more than enough heavy and greasy food while travelling). The food seemed so authentic that I thought the owner was from somewhere in Northern Africa or the Middle East, where Ras al Hanout is used. This is the only place I´ve been... More

I was pleasantly surprised to be able to enjoy couscous in Arequipa. This was most certainly a Middle Eastern flavor to the food - slightly salty (which is probably the Peruvian influence) but otherwise a great taste clearly dominated by Moroccan spices. Interesting slightly ecclectic decor - slightly understaffed (it could be a long wait if they suddenly get a... More

We had the hummus with bread. The taste was very good but the portion size was small. For our meal we ordered the falafel sandwich. The same situation, good food but mostly bread. The restaurant was nice, in a convenient location and seemed to be clean.

The meat dishes were quite good, but our kids found the pasta to be a little too al dente for their taste. Service was a little slow and also a little unbending. We asked for more parmesan cheese, for example, but this was a tough request for them to process. A pretty setting. They do offer hookah, however, so beware... More
