Highly recommend!

I only had one night and one opportunity to try a restaurant in Arequipa, and I was glad I chose this one. Nice atmosphere, very friendly host and staff. The cocktails were delicious, and the Rocoto Relleno is not to be missed (p.s., they make it SPICY if you ask for it...). I wish I had not been... read more

This is a well known chain in Peru offering reasonable food and adequate service. We had the Osobuco and the Alpaca curry. The Osobuco is a large sized dish and very heavy on salt, and the Alpaca curry served on a bed of quinoa wasn’t very spicy and if I didn’t know I was eating Alpaca for the first time,... More

Chicha was one my best culinary experiences in Arequipa - which is already in my opinion one of the best cities to eat in Peru! The service was excellent, and the food brilliant. I was in particular amazed by the Cuy Pekines - an inventive arequipenian version of a Beijing Duck, which might be the best adaptation of the original... More

The service and setting were great. Our appetizers were great, but main courses and dessert left a bit to be desired. We were convinced that the sauce on one of our ravioli dishes was just mayonnaise and mustard mixed together. The creme brûlée was runny.

Gaston is very famous in Peru, but the traditional local food is not very well mixed with the gourmet scenario, the servings are a bit small for a person and the desserts are really really small. Overall I was happy with the service I received.

I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but this place was great. The lomo en adobo (marinated pork in what amounts to a soup) was rich in flavor. Several different kinds of bread were enjoyable. I would gladly order the chirimoya custard (type of apple) served with white chocolate mousse again. I should not have ordered dessert, but the... More

We ate here as a large group - 21 of us. The piscos were great, especially the maracuyo (passion fruit). I had the osso bucco which was good (but I've actually had better in my home town of White Bear Lake in MN). My friend had the ravioli which was to die for - I would order this next time... More

I had always wanted to try a Gaston restaurant. Splurged a little for this one. It was a good experience but I wouldn't order the same thing again. Chicharrones. Not my type but that was my fault for ordering. Also not a great fan of the queso helado, but also don't know if it was just my preference or if... More

The food was just heavy and bland. We had the pork ribs and the ravioli. The pork had been deep fried and was lacking in flavour. The ravioli was overlooked, bland and the sauce looked like split cheese. Not what we expected for the best restaurant in Arequipa.

This is a great restaurant, they need some confidence and jazzing up. But the food is to die for, and its a comfy oasis in the old centre of Arequipa. My wife tells me the waiters are a dream as well. So to business, its old quarter stone, with comfortable chairs and tables, cool and well ventilated. We had a... More
