5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2014 NEW

We went to this restaurant yesterday for dinner. I had not see any recommendations on Trip Advisor before, which was good. Else, I would probably not have gone due to the (unfair) reviews. We were welcomed and served by super polite and educated waiters, they explained the menu, gave suggestions, changed some ingredients because we don't eat meat, and we... More

Quality was good. Service very good. But nothing amazing here. A safe option, but not one to leave you raving about he restaurant scene in Arequipa.

The idea behind Chicha is to take regional cuisine and make it a little bit more gourmet. They do this, both here and in Cusco and the food is good but the regional cuisine is amazing as is and the gourmet bit makes it more expensive and for me not a great value. I recommend going to one of the... More

Chicha is a good restaurant . Its decoration , its location and its staff attitude really serve as appetizers and then you receive a real nice meal !!! Fresh ingridients ( which are not always the case in Arequipe !!! ) Very recommended !

I had a great meal at Chicha. They cook local dish to the perfection. I recommend the lobster soup and stuffed pepper.

Chicha is one of those restaurants you'll not want to miss. Located in one of Arequipa's quintessential white stone buildings, the restaurant features inventive cuisine sourcing local producers, well prepared and exquisitely presented. We had ceviche as a starter, which featured the perfect balance of sweet and sour, accompanied by one of Chicha's signature cocktails for my wife, and a... More

Gaston has two restaurants in Arequipa. This one is typical of his best efforts. Try the rocottos rellenos if you like very spicy food. A real treat and very typical of Arequipa. The sea bass and shrimp was also excellent. Service impeccable, decor very pleasing. Inexpensive for a meal by one of the world's best chefs.

ChiCha embodies all I would have expected in a Gaston Acurio restaurant. Excellent service, attentive staff, and Peruvian regional food at its best! The Chupe de Camarones was a definite highlight - the best I've ever had. The Creme brûlée over the traditional mazamorra morada offered a sweet end to a wonderful evening. Rosanna, Sydney Australia

This restaurant is Gaston Acurio at his best. It isn't simply an expensive tourist place. When we dined, most the other patrons were Peruvians. The setting and environment are lovely though the furniture a bit strange. The food was creative, delicious, and served with perfection. A trip to Arequipa is not complete without a visit to Chicha.
