Great potential but limited menu

Nice location and great staff. On our visit the menu was very limited due to Veda of Camarones (protective measure that prohibits fishing or selling some days a year), also they had no Alpaca dishes so 50% or more of the menu was unavailable. What we ordered was excellent but expected to experience... read more

Overall, this place is obviously pricier so it attracted mostly tourists. Ambiance was antique modern and dimly lit. Not many people on this Friday evening. Highlights: - Trucha: fish similar to salmon but less fatty, well marinated with a nice grilled crispy skin, came with a ton of potatoes & some of the typical choclo corn Average items: - Bread... Our plan of a good restaurant is to have a tasting experience, not to be hit by noisy sound which some undereducated people consider “music”. Food was very nice, but unfortunately they choose to put on (cannot say play) some junk music, which can be very well compared to junk food. I cannot understand such a fancy restaurant so careful... Annual trip to Arequipa means an annual trip to ChiCha. This was the first time I was disappointed. In fact, several of the party who had the ravioli were ill during the night after the meal. Not the usual for ChiCha. Literally, we look forward to this meal for weeks. Others at the meal had the Pork belly and loved... More

We were with a very large group. Service was a bit slow but the servers were working very hard! Food was good, it is very loud! Because it is a very old stone building, the acoustics are terrible!

Gaston, your food was superb ----- the salad was perfectly dressed, the two mains delicious and bursting with flavor. Our waiter, Jonny, was wonderful ------ helpful in selecting just the right wine for our warm afternoon lunch and helpful in suggesting which Mains would work for our tastes and level of hunger. And the food didn't disappoint. But take note,... More

This is a good place for a "treat" since it's a bit expensive. Our favorite part of the meal was the cocktails! We had different types of pisco sours and chilcanos - all delicious. My daughter had the lomo saltado and said it was the best she'd ever had. (We live in Lima, and that's her "go-to" order, so she... More

I think I never gave a 1-star rate, but there’s always a first time. My wife and I were going to spend just one night at Arequipa, and considering the prestige of Chef Acurio and good evaluations at TripAdvisor we decided to book a table at ChiCha.   We spent our morning at Colca Valley and arrived tired and hungry... The food, of course, was simply lovely with a focus on excellent Arequipa specialities. Our waiter was full of good suggestions and we weren't disappointed. Two of our family were sick and they prepared basic food off menu for them. Food came quickly too which makes dinner with kids so much easier!

I'd been a little underwhelmed by the nicer restaurants in Peru up to this point but Chicha was phenomenal. Even the price was fair. I'd go back in a second.
