Attentive service, a taste of Peru

We ate an early dinner here at 6.30 and were the only people in the restaurant. It seemed to be picking up as we left. The service was quick, polite and efficient. We ordered the stuffed pepper to share as a starter which was very flavoursome and for main course the alpaca and cuy. The waitress... read more

A very pleasant restaurant with well prepared tastefull dishes, friendly service in a nice athmosphere, at walking distance of the Plaza de Armes. Pricelevel is about half the prices in the Netherlands. Good local wine at very fair price. Recommendable

We were recommended to come here by friends and ended up eating here twice during 6 nights in Arequipa. Although it's fairly pricey, it's good value for the quality of the food, plus it is a really nice place. The food was amazing, some of the best we've had in Peru so far. I particularly enjoyed the rosemary alpaca and... More

You walk into this place thinking it's going to be really expensive, but it's really not that bad. It has a great atmosphere (pretty romantic) and really reasonable prices considering the quality of food you get. I had the lomo saltado one night and the chicken curry another night, and both were excellent! The craft beers on offer were also... More

We chose Zingaro based on reviews and were at first a bit scared that it would be extremely expensive. But though it's definitely not the cheapest restaurant in Peru, it is most certainly not the most expensive one. The food is great and they have a nice selection of craft beer. We took their selection of appetizers for 55 soles... More

We ended up here by chance as Zig Zag was fully booked. The staff at Zig Zag recommended this place and it was an excellent choice. Fine dining at reasonable prices. The staff were exceptionally kind to me when I had a horrible adverse reaction to my altitude sickness drugs.

This is a fine dining experience right in downtown. Their food is always good (love their fresh pasta) and while expensive, it's a nice experience. Their wait staff is not amazing but they usually aren't busy so it's not a loss. If you're in Arequipa for a while and want to try something different, it's definitely a good one to... More

I went for dinner to this restaurant as a group of 5 after we were unsuccessful in getting a table at Zig Zag, around the corner. We ordered the two platers for starters, one an antipasta, and the second a mix of steak, cheese, salad. These were good plates to share between us, and reasonably tasty. For mains I decided... Great restaurant, we do recommend it to all of you travelling to Arequipa. We had there cui (guinea pig) and sangria and excellent deserts. Family from Praha, Czech Republic

I tried the local specialty - cuy - here. I wanted to try guinea pig (once in a lifetime right?) but I was pretty timid about getting the whole thing plus its head on my plate, which is how it is normally served. They have a boneless option here, which was a perfect compromise for me. Taste-wise, think really fatty,... More
