This little restaurant is situated in the wonderful monestario of Arequipa. We had diner over there and found it was an excellent experience during our travels through Peru. looking for Italian food we ended up in the Trattoria del Monestaria and very much enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is rather small with different, separate dining rooms, an interior in line... More

While my Osso buco was quite good, my wife's Sea Bass was over-cooked and old. The building itself is an odd configuration of 3 rooms with no cohesiveness. If you do decide to eat here, try to get a table in the front room.

good restaurant, very well located, excellent service!!. they could make the place a little more romantic or cozy changing the lighting. We had the trout with limabeans puree, fantastic!! and 3 cheese ravioli, just ok.

We were lucky enough to get a lovely table by the window without a reservation on a late Sunday afternoon. Service was impeccable and we enjoyed minestrone and a salad as appetizers before our main meal of Sea Bass and Osso Bucco. Not outstanding but good solid food. Pasta choices at other tables looked very good and plentiful. Great to... More

Just got back from dinner at this restaurant. It's luck of the draw as to whether it's open when you pass, as we went several times in our two weeks in Arequipa and only found it open tonight! But we were glad we persevered - a fresh, tasty starter of beef carpaccio followed by trout cannelloni for me and prawn... More

Great place for food following a visit to the Monastario de Santa Catalina next door. The food is delicious Italian with a lovely Peruvian influence. Not the cheapest place to eat, but the food is very good.

The restaurant building was once part of the monastery. We ate in a back room, whose window was open to the monastery proper. The atmosphere is lovely. The service was very good. The menu is mostly Italian, but I tried Rocoto Relleno con Camerones, which was delicious. It was pretty quiet for lunch on a Saturday, but it is not... More

We went for dinner here after touring the monastery earlier that day. The seating is limited so make a reservation. The food was great and the waiter very attentive. It was a cozy "treat yourself" kind of dinner.

Probably some of the best food I have eaten for the money we paid. Absolutely top-notch service as well. If you come to Arequipa and don't come here, you miss out big-time!

I live in Arequipa and we chose to try this "special" place on a special occasion. It was disappointing. The place was pretty, the placemats were dirty, and the manager/owner was very pushy and we could hear her yelling in the kitchen constantly. She even argued with another customer when his meat was undercooked that it was medium-well when in... More
