The best (Italian) Restaurant in Arequipa

- Only great things to stay: quaint setting, friendly and efficient staff and most importantly, outstanding menu and food! I don't think there is one dish that is not delicious - the best in Arequipa

Like many places in the old Arequipa center, Trattoria del Monasterio is beautiful - painted walls and arequipenian architecture, with the small plus of a window on the inside of the monastery. The food itself was excellent.

Nice atmosphere and excellent meal in a good arrangement. Restaurant is a very good option when you are searching for a private environment.

Sometimes you just need to eat a plate of pasta. I always feel like it is a failure to go to an old standby like Italian food because we prepare it so often at home, but this was something special. The menu had a variety of interesting Italian-Peruvian options. The restaurant was cozy and the staff was helpful and accommodating... More

Longest and best menu in town for those that want to enjoy local dishes prepared with quality ingredients in a rather modern way. Everything from fish and steak to pasta and stuffed peppers. Service was attentive and fast. It's not in the monastery, just enter off the street next door.

We tried different restaurants in Arequipa on my second trip there from local restaurants to fancy ones and even the famous Chicha restaurant from Gaston Acurio. We tried this place for lunch and I had the best dish on my trip, Cheerful Lomito, a perfectly cooked loin of pork in a sauce of passion fruit on sweet potato ravioli and... More

A visit to this restaurant is a perfect way to conclude a tour of the Monastery. Some of the tables have nice views into Monastery grounds. All our dishes were perfectly prepared and served. Overall, the meal was one of the best we have ever had. Looking at other reviews, I would simply comment that this restaurant is not intended... More

This cute little restaurant is tucked away in the Monastery - of all places. We have tried Italian in almost every country we have visited, so we thought we might as well try it in PERU. We were not really expecting it to be outstanding, we just felt like spaghetti 9after eating potatoes with every meal in PERU). We were... More

Those Italians who come here and criticise how pasta is cooked should simply stay at home, that's it. In Perù you should choose Peruvian food,so your palate has no comparisons and your judge would be pure! At the Trattoria we ate a very nice ocopa for entree and two different types of delicious ceviche, the service was good and the price excellent,5-stars!

Four of us went here one evening. It is located just inside the walls of the Santa Catalina monastery, hence the name of the restaurant. The decor is nice, and the food is excellent. My wife had pumpkin ravioli and I had their vegetarian lasagna. For appetizers we had fried mushrooms in a delicious blue cheese sauce. All these dishes... More
