The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

Nice resturant. I was not very hungry so order a salad. It was amazing. We had desert and drink after dinner in the bar area. A nice transition.

Fantastic place to eat dinner in Arequipa! It was recommended by a Peruvian friend and it did not disappoint. I had the volcanic meat selection and it was very very good (be sure too keep the bib on! even if it does look silly). Katy was a fabulous waiter and spoke very good English but also helped me along with... More

Zig Zag is located across from a park within distance of where most travelers would stay. We were leary, as the restaurant was referred by a tour guide (many of these are buffets where they get a voucher - thus have a bias). The restaurant was packed and we had no reservation, so had to sit upstairs. In hindsight, I... More

The food was great. Before you buy something à la carte, you should take a look at the menus. We had the Menu Volcanic and the Menu Vegetarian. The tomato soup was delicious, the meat and the gnocci were also wonderful. Service was quick and friendly.

We went as a family with two boys (5 and 7 years old) and it was absolutely amazing! Fast service, beautiful atmosphere and the food... I had the alpaca filet with a creamy Quinoa with cheese and a fresh salad. The meat came grilled on a stone and was super delicious. My husband had lams rack. With a good wine... More

Great first impression as when the hostess realized I didn't speak Spanish she asked if I spoke English or French of which I speak both. Very impressed that she was trilingual. I ordered the trilogy of meats volcanic sizzling platter (pretty much their main dish) and it didn't disappoint. The alpaca was very very good. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian... More

We had dinner at Zig-zag. Our travel agent got us one of the two tables in the bay window on the second floor that overlooked the park. Beautiful view. We split an ante paste platter. The most interesting thing were the half inch sections of corn on the cob (the larger kernel variety) that were grilled. My wife had cream... More

I had an amazing bread with butters and sauces, the Cuatrosuyos Salad was stunning and the local Carmenere Wine was excellent. It went down hill from there. O ordered the trilogy of three meats. The meat was cooked to order, but the sauces were so bland they may as well have not been there. (I'm not a hot person and... More
