Description: The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

If this is your first night in South America you will enjoy your meal and appreciate the value in comparison with European or US prices. If you have been here a while it will be a real treat. Staff were pleasant, we had a good laugh at the 'bibs' provided when you order a meal served on the hot volcanic... More

Nothing to say that hasn't already been said. One of the best meals I had in Arequipa. The trio of meats was the star and worth trying. Our hotel called ahead for us same day to get a reservation... When we arrived, they wanted to put us in a little private party room connected to the restaurant, but not in... More

Really nice evening! Had the volcanic meat plate, and a bottle of wine. Very good food and service. Would recommend. (Be sure to check out their sister restaurant, Crepisimo, too! More relaxed atmosphere, but both were great!)

Make sure you make reservations well in advance of your visit. This trendy restaurant is packed out every night. Food is delicious, brilliantly served and the wine list is huge.

The place isn't the easiest to locate in the dark but we managed to find it. Just remember to turn left at the end of the street<wink>. The food we ordered was served on a hot lava rock and we understood why we were given lobster/crab bibs before hand. The meat splatters! We split a meal as the amount of... More

The restaurant is not bad... not at all!! On the contraire it has good food, good service and nice atmosphere... BUT, is not as good as they say. The process are not low... and the food is nice, but not AWESOME. There are a few "better" restaurants really near, and much more cheaper.

After going to mainly cheap places in Arequipa my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal and Zig Zag was highly recommended by several people at our hostel. I am SO glad we went because our meal at here was the best we had in Peru and honestly one of my favorite meals ever. First of... More

Peruvian food is amazing at all price levels. This is high end but cheap by North American standards.

Walked a km to this quaint, elegant restaurant located across from San Francisco Plaza, and it was worth the walk. Zig-Zag serves Peruvian fare & caters to an international clientele, without being "touristy". Arriving at just after noon, I was escorted to a table on the second floor, next to the window overlooking San Francisco Plaza, and was the only... More

The Zig Zag was recommended to us as one of the best restaurants in Arequipa. It did not disappoint. We had stuffed mushrooms for starters and the choice of three meats on hot stone for our main course. All the food was delicious and the service was great. The stairs designed by Gustave Eiffel (of tour fame) were a nice... More
