The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

Very good

The menu was great, the trilogy of meat is a great choice. However, I ve seen much better restaurants in Lima/Cusco. It s definitely a good choice for Arequipa.

Although quite expensive for peruvian standards, the quality is superb. We had a main dish each, plus a cheese mix and a small bottle of wine and spent around 240 soles for 4 people. The grilled alpaca, served on a hot stone, is very good.

Having spent two weeks on a tour of wonderful Peru, our last night was in Arequipa. On the recommendation of several people, we asked our tour guide to reserve a table at Zigzag. As there were few places left, we were asked to arrive by 6:30. When we arrived, the place was empty but soon filled up. Our waiter, Pepe,... More

Zig Zag was some of the best food we had in Peru! The meat was perfectly cooked and the sauces that were paired with the different meats were interesting and delicious. We would've gone back if we were in the city longer. Would recommend to anyone in Arequipa!

Went here for dinner for our last night in Peru, and thought it was divine. We requested via email a table by the upstairs window, which was a gorgeous setting for the meal. The bread and dips served at the beginning of the meal was so tasty, I could only imagine what our entrees would be like. My boyfriend and... More

One of the best meals I've even eaten - Staff were very attentive but not over bearing and presentation of food was lovely.

It's a good place to eat, the food is not bad but not excellent. The staff is nice but It's basically international food with almost nothing special and I tried the most "local" dishes, therefore I think it's a little bit expensive. Regarding the food (international, barely peruvian, only the alpaca was really local) and the prices, i have eaten... More

We enjoyed a great meal at this top Arequipa restaurant which occupies one of the old colonial buildings near the city centre. We were shown upstairs to a table at the window so had a great view of both the restaurant and the street outside. The place was busy and buzzy and staff were welcoming and helpful. The menu offers... More

Good restaurant, but based on reviews and price I was expecting marvelous out of this world and it was not. Most of it was just a bit better than average. I felt like it was a one-trick pony with the fish or meat on a hot rock deal and not very many alternatives in the menu. The fish was very... More

Friendly efficient service from start to finish. We pre-booked a table by email for a Saturday night and had a prompt acknowledgement confirming our booking. We sat in the window upstairs overlooking the square and church. The sharing platter of meats and cheeses was excellent. We followed this up with the tasty trio of meats on the sizzling volcanic stone.... More
