The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

Best in Arequipa, maybe Peru!

Of course, relying on Trip Advisor, we had a delicious dinner at this lovely restaurant in Arequipa. We sat upstairs by the window in a private alcove, very nice. I had the smoked salmon and asparagus appetizer and the trout sizzling on a lava rock. My husband had rack of lamb. This was all... read more

They have great meat, the best one...Alpaca. They serve them in a volcanic hot rock so they can keep cooking and keep being warm.

We got here early in the evening and was able to score a table without a reservation. I had Paiche and my wife had a triple meat dish. (Alpaca, lamb and steak). My party of 5 also ordered three bottles of wine. Get mixed drink served in an ostrich egg.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Zig Zag, for which we had reservations at 6 p.m., but were a little surprised it is ranked #1 in Arequipa. For starters, they were out of the lamb my husband had been craving – at 6 in the evening? He substituted a meat trilogy and I had the alpaca, all of... More

Zig Zag is a very good restaurant, currently ranked #1 in town. It's not the best I've been to but it provides a very good meal in an attractive environment. If in for an early dinner, as, for the table for 2 by the window overlooking San Francisco Plaza. You might be seranaded by a very find saxophonist and entertained... More

Food: very good, we had the 3 types of meat (lamb, alpaca, beef) on the hot stone. Would recommend it, it was nice. It was the first time we had Alpaca and it is very tender. The pisco sour was also very good Staff: very friendly, food served rapidly A good place to spend the night.

I was super excited with this restaurant when we booked however I found that the food was not as amazing as I hoped. The service is great and the staff was very nice but I guess I was expecting more from the #1 restaurant in Arequipa. We had the meat trilogy and the Alpaca was great- I order the trout... More

I was tempted to have the trio of meats, but chose lamb. It was beautifully done, the side dishes were wonderful. Service was impeccable. The restaurant was quiet, but I arrived early so it might be noisier as it gets busy.
