Description: The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish.

One of our guides advised trying this restaurant. Gosh, how lucky can one get? Without doubt, this restaurant served up some of the best meals we have ever had. If we lived in Arequipa, we would try for permanently regular bookings here! Look, I'm a dedicated carnivore, so the combination of three or four prime meats on a volcanic stone... More

The great reviews on this restaurant are not wrong. Go there if at all possible while in Arequipa. Reservations are strongly recommended as they are constantly full. The meat dishes cooked on screaming hot volcanic stones are fabulous as are the salads and soups. You can't go wrong at this place.

We originally booked a table for the evening the day before as had heard great reviews about this place and we can confirm it does get booked up by large groups. After a change of plans, we asked to change the reservation to the less busy lunchtime, which the very accommodating staff were able to do. Both my wife and... More

We came after seeing that it was the most recommended restaurant in this site and we were not disappointed at all! Great food, beautiful ambience, excellent service and very good value for the money. Definitely a recommendation in Arequipa

Yes it's a bit pricey for Peru but we felt it was well worth it. My friend had the trilogy of meats & I had the fish. Absolutely excellent, as was the service and ambience (we were upstairs in the balcony). I recommend you get a reservation to avoid disappointment.

We were travelling in Peru and had no expectations. Zig zag was well reviewed in various publications including tripadvisor. We had no reservation, it was busy. The person on the front desk suggested waiting at the bar, we were given complementary Pisco Sours. I had the Ox Heart, my partner had the prawn salad, we shared an excellent half bottle... More

If you like meat, this is awesome. My order came with alpaca, beef, and pork, and was served with four different dips for the meats. The meats come out sizzling on a chunk of volcanic rock from Volcano Misti (which is located closeby). There are also potatoes of various types which have been either fried or sauteed. I also had... This restaurant is mentioned in most guidebooks---and deserves all the praise and accolades it has received. Delicious.

My family and i visited this restaurant on our recent visit to La Ciudad Blanca de Arequipa. I choose this restaurant because it was the number 1 restaurant on tripadvisor. The food is to die for. From the complementary bread made on site that is served with the creamy butter made of olive and huacatay to our amazing meals, i... More
