In following a recommendation at Trip Advisor, I recently had a menu lunch at Los Monjas. The quinoa soup was very good, the stew with rice and salad was FANTASTIC. So was a home made ice cream, for desert and a real mora juice, not deluted with gallons of water. If you like espresso, do not order is there -... More

Very nice ambience, wonderful food, moderately priced and a great bilingual server by the name of Carlos. This man makes you feel like you are at home the moment you walk through the door. They also serve a very nice daily almuerzo separate from the regular menu. Menu is not overly extensive but more than adequate. They are closed Sunday... More

My partner and I had a lovely dinner here last night. MARIO was super friendly and shared stories of the city and life in ECUADOR after a delicious meal. Perhaps it was because we were the only ones left in the restaurant, he provided a rose flavoured ice-cream and home made lemoncello on the house as a digestive.

This elegant and exquisite place has everything under control, his manager Carlos is always there to help and suggest you a nice plate, the food is well cook and well served. My wife and I go there several times at lunch times, go and enjoy it.

Valentine's day in Cuenca. Looking for a particular museum, and we stumbled upon Las Monjas. Rather the fellow in charge was at the front door and invited us in to sample his Valentine's specials. Rather more than we normally pay for meals, we justified due to Valentines day. I had the pork medallions and my wife had the Chilean sea... More

Spent a month in Cuenca and Las Monjas definitely tops the restaurant list. Its a beautiful spot in El Centro, with excellent food and terrific service. We had a great dinner and came back a few days later for lunch. Most restaurants in Ecuador serve a well priced 'almuerzo' but the $4 lunch special at Las Monjas was exceptional. Also,... More

I have been coming here for 3 years and I agree with the favorable reviews. My title summarizes it all. Read the other reviews, they have said it all.
