A nice place to have a Dinner or Lunch

This elegant and exquisite place has everything under control, his manager Carlos is always there to help and suggest you a nice plate, the food is well cook and well served. My wife and I go there several times at lunch times, go and enjoy it.

Valentine's day in Cuenca. Looking for a particular museum, and we stumbled upon Las Monjas. Rather the fellow in charge was at the front door and invited us in to sample his Valentine's specials. Rather more than we normally pay for meals, we justified due to Valentines day. I had the pork medallions and my wife had the Chilean sea... More

Spent a month in Cuenca and Las Monjas definitely tops the restaurant list. Its a beautiful spot in El Centro, with excellent food and terrific service. We had a great dinner and came back a few days later for lunch. Most restaurants in Ecuador serve a well priced 'almuerzo' but the $4 lunch special at Las Monjas was exceptional. Also,... More

I have been coming here for 3 years and I agree with the favorable reviews. My title summarizes it all. Read the other reviews, they have said it all.

My husband and I had dinner at Las Monjas last weekend and consider it the 'find' of our stay in Cuenca this year. We had heard about the restaurant a while ago but never visited, and were surprised to find a new menu and very reasonable prices. The decor is stylish and modern; the host, Carlos, attentive and professional. The... More

I eat here at least twice a week, either for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong with either one. The food is great -- lunch is less than $5.00, but I would recommend either the filet mignon or the salmon for dinner -- and the service is exceptional. Carlos is very cordial and welcoming, and his recommendations have always... More

i enjoyed an evening dinner here with friends recently. We found Las Monjas to be an excellent experience. An attractive, well-run restaurant, with an interesting menu and great food (and very reasonable great prices). Carlos, the owner, personally greets the clients and manages the service. It makes a big difference!

The restaurant offers a good variety of different kinds of dishes. They use traditional products in an innovative new style. The quality of the food was excellent and everything was excellent made. The service is courteous with a good knowledge about the different kinds of meals. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is located centraly.

We had two meals here while in Cuenca and they were both delicious. The food is very fresh, cooked to perfection and served with style. Carlos, the head, was very helpful and welcoming to us. This is a ‘must-do’ stop while in Cuenca for something different. Try the three ice cream cups for dessert. Delicious!.
