There are two locations: a larger restaurant in Millennium Plaza and a smaller one on Calle Larga. The service is good, the menu is large and varied, and the food is delicious. Try any dish with the fried potatoes - they're like thick potato chips and they're great. I've tried the shrimp in a lemony sauce that was good, and... More

Visited this restaurant with friends. The food was nicely prepared, good flavored and reasonable prices. Service was somewhat slow but they were very friendly. We ordered the parrillada and was satisfied. I definitely will recommend. La Esquina.

Even though La Esquina had been recommended by two sets of friends, my husband and I had never been there. We decided to have a nice lunch out before leaving on a month-long visit to the U.S. Our entree choice was the beef tenderloin in a mushroom-Cabernet reduction. The main dish was accompanied by artisan fried potatoes (so good!), salad... More

Nice atmosphere. Had the beef with mushrooms and Cabernet. Huge serving. Sauce was outstanding, lots and lots of great mushrooms. Unfortunately the beef was tough and overcooked, probably due to the cooking & serving in a cast iron pan. The seafood other diners had looked tender. No room for desert.

This place was incredible!! They served discs for at least two, maybe three people, of beef, chicken, langostino. We had tenderloin beef with a Cabernet reduction and wild mushrooms. A fantastic treat with an accompanying salad and desert of carmel, chocolate and meringue, separated by pastry shells. The service was outstanding. /Waiters spoke Spanish and English. The beef was the... More

We really liked the food. We had steaks with fries. Several small salads and sauces were served first and they were made of eggplant, garbanzo beans, cucumbers, and corn. Everything was fresh and delicious.

We had a lunch in La Esquina and it was very tasteful! They have a iron dish for 2 with steak and pepper- mushroom sauce and was very good.

We tried La Esquina on the recommendation of an expat friend, and were very pleased that we did. Most of the dishes are served in skillets meant for two (although single portions are available). We started with a melted cheese appetizer, sort of like saganaki but with peppers and onions and without the opah. Our main course was chicken in... More

Rating is compared to other Cuenca restaurants, not USA. Their signature dish is a skillet of mushrooms and beef, forget the name, but it is HUGE if you order for two. Could feed four easily, or 6 if you order apps. Surprisingly tender beef, tasty entree. Deserts looked good, too, but didn't try them.

Unique way of serving food in hot pans. Food was delicious and presented well and more than generous portions. Decent wine list. We would return on our next visit to Cuenca
