Great value for money for meat lovers

Very nice ambience, great service and great food! We had a disk of meat (casserole) it is served minimum for 2. You get around 700 gr of very good quality meat, cooked exactly as you requested, bowl of rice, bowl of salad (very good dressing) and some potatoes. All that for 30$ in total! Also... read more

Such a rich, delicious dinner! Be sure to try their amazing discos, a real treat. Can't wait to go back next time in Cuenca.

A plate of rice and vegetables for 2, $35, IN CUENCA, ECUADOR? They must be kidding, but they are not :( AND YOU HAVE TO BEG THEM TO SERVE THE DISH FOR 1 PERSON! The fish was good, but not as good or as interesting as to cost $17, in Cuenca. The prices are higher than in both Tiesto's and... More

No idea why this place has such great reviews, we chose this place as it had been recommended as a nicer place with great food but the meal we ordered, ribs was actually disgusting, they were about 80% fat with some actually just being only fat. I wouldn't mind something like this in a 3 dollar menu but not for... More

Cuenca seems to have several good restaurants but our budget only allows the occasional "special" meal out. We are so glad we chose La Esquina for a "splash out" in Cuenca - especially as we had the most wonderful meal and a lovely bottle of wine for $60 (incl tax and tip). Whilst waiting for our main meal we were... More

Had to come here twice within a week, the food was so good! Loved the dishes for two served on a plow blade.. unbelievable delicious sauces, tender, tender steak and chicken. The only complaint I had was that the place is small, and we felt somewhat cramped. But the quality of the food was wonderful. Service was better the second... More

Located on the corner very close to the museum of aboriginal cultures, the small restaurant has a variety of dishes including the risotto which we ordered. Very generous proportions ; all desserts were made in the house. Recommend for lunch or dinner

My girlfriend and I came to Cuenca for a weekend getaway from Guayaquil, Ecuador. This restaurant was just on the corner from our hostel "La Casa Cuencana"...., which was a great place to stay. My girlfriend ordered a "Gourmet Baked Chicken Breast Dinner". The dinner came with with roasted garlic potatoes. The boneless chicken breast must have been filleted lengthwise... More

Highly recommend! Great food, service and wine selection. $50 check for two people for high quality meal, bottle of wine and service which I consider is pretty good price in comparison to Quito. Regardless of whether it is true argentine or not... Totally worth it!
