First of all, Portions are huge! We ordered a chicken salad and a res de lomo milanesa! Both of us did not finish the plate cause its just too much! Quality is excellent, absolutely delicious! You will find cheaper places in Cuenca, but the Quality of the food is worth the high price!

We hadn't read anything on this place before going on. We were nicely surprised by sensational calamari (and I know my calamari!) followed by a big pan of steak and potatoes with a solid malbec. Just excellent service and yummy food in a nice atmosphere. A winner. The staff had also helped arrange a surprise for a couple when we... More

The menu lists a variety of American cocktails as two for one specials such as Old Fashioned, Martini, etc. We ordered Old Fashioneds. We were served some weird concoction in a tall glass with no fruit at all, this being Ecuador with every kind of fresh fruit you can imagine. It had whiskey and a lot of sugar but nothing... More

This place only has a few tables, the service is very good as well as the food. I felt, however, that overall it was a bit pricy...

The food is plenty for groups, we suggest to go with friends, the desserts are amazing. It is a small restaurant but with a nice atmosphere.

We had an early dinner at La Esquina on Calle Larga during our stay in Cuenca in October. We had the goat cheese chicken (can't remember the Spanish name) described as a dis for two. It really would be a meal for 3 average appetites as we took leftovers back to the hotel for the next night. The service was... More

Kind of OK. I ordered the ribs and received an expensive order of fat with a little meat thrown in. We were 6 people and I would say for 3 of them the cuts of meat were just not that good, especially for the prices. Heavy saucing, not very well cooked (to order), very cramped quarters - one of our... More

We have met friends here for a fabulous birthday celebration and La Esquina provided a lovely private room for the 8 of us. They made a beautiful birthday cake for our guest and the service was impeccable! The food was absolutely great and everyone took pictures of their meal before we ate it. It was so beautiful AND delicious. The... More

Pretentious black-on-black candle light dip & pastry appetizer nonsense. Aping someone's passé idea of cosmopolitan cool, it succeeds only as caricature. Or for those who are easily impressed by presentation, or by what is written in the local civic promotional cheap coffee table book Frantic waiter with faux-sophisticated moves by rote attempts to sell the most expensive food and drink-...
