The high tea was a disappointment

It is a beautiful restaurant with an impeccable servce. However, their high tea was a true disappointment. It is a beautiful restaurant with an impeccable servce. However, their high tea was a true disappointment. Nothing in common with the British high tea, very uninteresting bite size sandwiches, and unimpressive tiny bits of desert. Would like to hope this was just a bad luck, but will not return for high tea in their menu version Even if I... More

This restaurant, which includes garden seating in an exterior greenhouse, is set in exquisite surroundings in a 300 year old colonial mansion. Service was excellent, and candlelight and roses conducive to a lovely evening. We had a special Lent meal, that was composed of the traditional fanesca soup (that dates to early colonial times, if not Incan), trout with salmon... More

In the Hotel Mansion Alcazar in Cuenca, this dining experience is not to be missed -- while Annubus is ranked higher, this quiet dining spot has outstanding food and service.....don't miss out if you are in Cuenca Ecuador...you will regret it!

This is a restaurant in a lovely hotel, which is not at all the same as calling it a "hotel restaurant", which someone who clearly cannot distinguish an excellent meal from a McDonalds one seems to have called it. It has two dining rooms, one inside the actual hotel building, which is a 300-year-old building, beautifully maintained and with all... More

We stayed here hence we had breakfast and dinner here. Service was great both times. Dinner was good. We all ordered steaks and they were cooked well and taste was good too. Potato soup was terrible which is their local food. Ceviche was okay. And the apple strudel was way too sweet. Breakfast is excellent. All freshly made. And you... More

We stayed at this hotel and so the meal was included. The service wasn't the best it was three guys who basically had no idea what they were doing. The steak and quinoa salad was phenomenal. The dessert was horrible though, maybe being from Alabama I have tasted the best apple strudel and this was horrible in comparison

The onion soup was just average but the Steak Mansion Alcazar was wonderful. It was a beef tenderloin sitting on top of vegetable and a bed of mashed potatoes smothered in a rich mushroom gravy. My husband had the Steak Al Queso Azul which was tenderloin with blue cheese and vegetable. We are from Texas and know a good steak... More

We went to Casa Alonso for our 18th anniversary. The setting is elegant and service impeccable. We were presented with plates of art for every course. I didn't want to eat them they were so beautiful. But I did and they were fabulous!! It is on the top of the high side in price but for a special occasion this... More

The food was terrific traditional Ecuadorian. The restaurant is set overlooking the gardens of a hotel which is a remodeled old spectacular home. This is a restaurant we would love to go back to.
