From the moment my companion and I walked thru the door of Casa Aonzo, tucked beautifully inside Mansion Alcazar Boutique Hotel, the experience was first rate, of the highest quality. We were greeted warmly, shown to our seats at an immaculately set table complete with scented flowers. The salads were as beautiful as they were imaginative and delicious! My companion and... More

Fantastic salads, especially the mango, avocado and crab. I can recommend the onion soup, it was really delicious. Service was good.

The restaurant is located in probably the only Cuenca 5 star hotel, a very beautiful place, whose ambience somehow reminds me of the Plaza hotel in NY. First class service, with a very beautiful table setting. The food presentation is simply magnificent. And no, the portions are not big :). Invited for dinner my Ecuadorian friend, a true gourmet chef,... More

The duck breast is the best in Cuenca, possibly Ecuador. The cesar salad first rate. The ambiance is second to none and the service very good. The chef does an awesome job and I was pleased he came out to say hello.

Casa Alonso is part of the Alcazar boutique hotel. We were staying there and decided to visit the restaurant on our first night mainly for convenience. We ended up eating there every evening. The food was very very good. It's well presented modern food, but not too pretentiously nouveaux, you certainly don't leave there hungry. I don't eat meat and... More

No doubt the fanciest nicest place we visited while in Cuenca. The place is fantastic with very good food. Prices are ok for the luxury We love the sea bass and the grilled portobelo. Good wine list. Recommended

It is a beautiful restaurant with an impeccable servce. However, their high tea was a true disappointment. Nothing in common with the British high tea, very uninteresting bite size sandwiches, and unimpressive tiny bits of desert. Would like to hope this was just a bad luck, but will not return for high tea in their menu version Even if I... More

This restaurant, which includes garden seating in an exterior greenhouse, is set in exquisite surroundings in a 300 year old colonial mansion. Service was excellent, and candlelight and roses conducive to a lovely evening. We had a special Lent meal, that was composed of the traditional fanesca soup (that dates to early colonial times, if not Incan), trout with salmon... More
