Great "stuffed omelet" for breakfast. Friendly Australian owners, though they have recently sold the restaurant to a Canadian couple, who have not yet taken over. More

The waiter was very friendly and helpful. In fact, we ran into him one evening at the Inca Lounge and he was just as nice. While the food at Kookaburra was good, it was the most expensive breakfast we had while in Cuenca. With so many good places to eat breakfast, it was hard to go back knowing we could... More

The menu offering is excellent as is the food that is served. Waiters speak excellent English. I will eat there again, but I really don't much like the portion sizes or the Gringo pricing. When you serve potatoes you don't need to measure them out by the gram. More

The coffee at Kookaburra Cafe is really good. The Australian owners have put both a lot of time and thought into renovating this cafe/ B & B. A favourite haunt for English speaking expats and tourists alike, as English is spoken and English newspapers available for perusal. The service is efficient and friendly, the atmosphere most relaxing. A great place... More

We really enjoyed this bar and restaurant. The American owners were right there offering cheerful service to Ecuadoreans and travelers from all over the world. We found plenty of conversation among all the customers, a great big sofa in one corner of the room...and felt truly welcome to the city of Cuenca More

Kooks is a favorite hang-out for the expat community and visitors to Cuenca. The friendly and popular Australian owners renovated the building into a restaurant and a tiny inn, located on the chief visitor spot in Cuenca on the Tomebamba River. Kooks serves breakfast and lunch only, from Thursday through Sunday. This is a very comfortable place in all respects... More
