After reading some of the reviews we wondered if we should eat at this restaurant. This is some of the best steak I have eaten, and the additional sauces provided on the side made it a delight to try something new. We ordered individual meals (instead of a family style) with no problems. Plenty of food and great service. Save... More

Very much a local favorite of Americans. Some of the largest servings I have yet seen in Ecuador! Good service, no problems for English speakers. Centrally located in the old town with a rustic decor and furniture. Food is average for Cuenca. Best comparison would be a more expensive Outback Restaurant.

This place is visited by locals and foreigners alike, for good reason. The food is traditionally Ecuadorian and very good. It's fun to taste all of the aji (salsas) that they bring you to begin the meal. The atmosphere is quaint/rustic and charming.

This restaurant was recommended by friends. You are served about 9 different Aji's in little bowls along with fresh bread. The menu serves 4 people for $75 before taxes. They offered a surf & turf special for 2 people for $45 before taxes. The langoustine was served family in a sizzling platter with a nice sauce. The langoustine were whole... More

Twice my husband and I stopped by due to the stellar reviews of resident ex-pats we have met. On both weekday evenings, the restaurant was fully booked, but on the second occasion, we were able to get a table since many of the bookings were for later in the evening. It was a memorable event. I mean one that will... More

The food was average, the atmosphere lacking, the service hurried, the prices outrageous, but the dessert was wonderful. Forget dinner at Tiesto's eat at any other restaurant but have their dessert.

Disclaimer: I've been in the service industry for over 20 years, and have also eaten at some of the top restaurants in the world. WARNING! The chef is pompous, pushy, condescending, and arrogant. Like the other reviews said, he does not listen to what you want. Nor does he respect your decisions. Furthermore, if you do have questions, he will... More

A friend, my wife, and I had dinner at Tiestos. We ordered their plate meal which includes paired wine and dessert. They also served us series of appetizers enhanced with herbs and natural seasonings. All of them were wonderful. The first thing that caught our attention was that the chef himself supervises serving the food. He goes around the tables... More

We had dinner here on 03 December. We did not have a reservation, but even though it was busy, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We opted for the "individual" menu and started with entrees and then a main course. Had we known the size of the serves, we may have just had an entree... More
