Worth a try

This restaurant is in need of renovation. The staff was friendly but service is slow. We tried some appetizers which were pretty good. We will probably give them another try, we hope they can step their game up.

Five and a half years ago, on my first night living in Cuenca we dined at Eucalyptus. I had the Pad Thai, I was sick all night vomiting. I swore to never return. But last night my husband, a musician, wanted to hear a singer who was at the Eucalyptus. So off we go. The first three entrees I ordered... More

Been going here for four years, and it has been a down hill ride. Each time poorer service and poorer food quality. Margaritas were made with cheap local rum, not with tequila, probably due to tequila being imported and very expensive. Onion soup and Caesar salad were almost inedible. Doubtful we will return.

2 of us went for a fine dining experience. Service and food were very good, price was high end. Would be a great place for a nice night out except that tour groups come in and take over the place. Loud & boisterous they just destroy the atmosphere. Shoving tables together and they just keep adding. Doesn't matter if your... More

We visited this restaurant again a year after our first visit. It's still shabby (old shabby, not charming shabby), badly lit, and the service is still atrocious. This time they had neither the red nor white house wines available...and no Sangria (because there was no red wine!). Once again, checking out was just painful. We had to wait 15 minutes... More

We learned about this restaurant in Lonely Planet and decided to give it a try. It was dark and so cold inside the restaurant that we had to wear our jackets. They had a fireplace but didn't have wood to burn. The band was supposed to start at 8PM but didn't show up - maybe because it was raining. The... More

We had been hearing good things about this place, but we were unhappy with our experience. A nice historic venue, but not particularly clean. Just three tables were seated, but the service was slow and uncaring. We started by asking for beer (Pilsner on tap) but had to ask three times for the promised lime). My entree was turkey and... The place set up is gorgeous. Sorry to say not the service. Same as menu. You are in tour table, and you order the wine, and they start running to get around the place, where to order one. Menu, traditional Ecuadorian fare, nothing special but full of carbs, potatoes and corn.

I'm going to add to the food poisoning comments. In 3 weeks in Ecuador we were not sick until we ate at this place. The service was atrocious and they were out of virtually everything that we wanted to order. (As others have also noted) The chicken we ordered was lukewarm and tasted funny, so we stopped eating, but not... More

We like the atmosphere and the depenadability of this restaurant. The food is good at a slightly higher price. The menu includes some Indian cusine.
