One of the most famous Italian restaurant in Quito Ristorante Carmine It was with good luck that when Chef Carmine returned to Ecuador he found an old friend who was leaving the country and who had began the construction of a new Italian food restaurant in Quito. We all know to listen to the wise ones and let Divine Providence do the work, so that is what he did. After a short while, Ristorante Carmine Quito opened its doors in a restored republican house which overlooks a small but ancient plaza with hundred year old trees and a beautiful garden in El Batán. From the outside of the house it looks like a little piece of Europe has been transported to Ecuador and from the inside you will feel like you are eating in an excellent restaurant in Italy.

Perfect place for dinner.

Great food, nice service! Pasta is a must. There are a lot of wine to choose, and desserts are amazing.

I've visited Carmine for a very long time. Carmine himself is always there to suggest you what you will definitely enjoy. Some people say it is over priced but I think that customer attention and satisfaction is something that they do manage in perfection. I am totally positive that a visit to Carmine will be memorable. i would recommend LANGOSTINOS... More

Carmine has the best Italian food in Quito. My favorite is Bucatini all'Amatriciana, which tastes just like Rome, a singular achievement outside of Italian soil. For starters, the grilled portabello mushroom with balsamic reduction is delicious.

food was good, but the price does not justify it. Expect at least $35 per person if you just have an entree and a glass of wine.

Slow service. Rice of risotto wasn't soft. I ordered a cannoli for dessert and 10 minutes later said they were out of it, but made it up with free desserts

Love love loved this place! I actually know the lady who used to live in this gorgeous home-turned-restaurant, and the space retains its original classic flair (beveled window panes and marble flooring). It's a beautiful place to sit with friends over a long, delicious Italian meal. Doesn't hurt that the owner is actually Italian and the restaurant makes its pastas... More

Owner has an attitude which is not expected if you want to attract customers. Tourist trap not worth visiting

It was a pleasant evening at Carmine, an old house with an elegant outdoor garden where the restaurant is located. The Italian menu was impressive. I enjoyed a grilled octopus entry and a Tagliatelle Viera (pasta and scallops) as the main dish. The food was great along with a good bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

Carmine is a place for special eaters, its for people who really like to be threated by a cheff who knows what's he doing. Carmine's ambiance is like Heaven, you won't regret it!

I had lunch at this restaurant last Monday and can only say that the fish I had was great. We also has a delicious pineapple and mint juice! Haven't tried anything like that before. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. For business meetings a very good place to go.
