true Italian fare and worth every penny!

Love love loved this place! I actually know the lady who used to live in this gorgeous home-turned-restaurant, and the space retains its original classic flair (beveled window panes and marble flooring). Owner has an attitude which is not expected if you want to attract customers. Tourist trap not worth visiting

It was a pleasant evening at Carmine, an old house with an elegant outdoor garden where the restaurant is located. The Italian menu was impressive. I enjoyed a grilled octopus entry and a Tagliatelle Viera (pasta and scallops) as the main dish. The food was great along with a good bottle of wine. Highly recommended.

Carmine is a place for special eaters, its for people who really like to be threated by a cheff who knows what's he doing. Carmine's ambiance is like Heaven, you won't regret it!

I had lunch at this restaurant last Monday and can only say that the fish I had was great. We also has a delicious pineapple and mint juice! Haven't tried anything like that before. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. For business meetings a very good place to go.

Food is average and expensive. Beautiful house but l'ambiance js cheesy. Ingredients are disapointing for a traditional italian restaurant. Use of non-fresh herbs, bread is unimpressive, etc.

Will keep this review short & sweet. A sensational find in Quito. Better ambiance & atmosphere than any NYC Italian Restaurant, excellent wait staff, awesome napkins (if you've been to Ecuador, you'll understand), FOOD-Awesome, Chef Carmine the best! Don't leave Quito without "dining" here.

Having tried a few disappointing restaurants in Quito we were advised to try Carmine. This is a wonderful restaurant with great food, good wine list and good service. If you are in Quito then this is a restaurant you must not miss.
