Description: Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.

less inventive and an (baroque) interior you have to like, and very expensive, but simply excellently made dishes and taxi to and from is included!

This restaurant rates with the best in Tokyo, L.A. New York and Paris. I wasn´t expecting much, for some reason this restaurant doesn´t show up as #1 on TripAdvisor. And, the location, is a little out of the way, for good reason. In a magnificient room that is part of the National Theatre this restaurant pulls out all the stops.... More

Is always excellent. The service is very professional, attentive and helpful. The dish presentation is awesome, and the flavors even better - I love the sirloin with foie gras and portobello. They have a very good variety of wines and cocktails. If you call, you can even coordinate with their included shuttle services to the restaurant and back to your... More

Our dinner was excellent. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. The dish presentation was amazing, and the flavors even better - I even liked octopus for the first time! They have a wide variety of wines and cocktails. Also, the portions are large for gourmet food .. So don't eat a large lunch if you plan on going there... More

This famous restaurant is on a large old town square. The buffet lunch offered an incredible array of the finest foods. And then when you think your experience could not be better a lady singer appears and delights with an incredible voice belting out opera and popular songs. This was perhaps the best Quito experience.

Step inside this warm room above a famous Quito theater. At first glance, it's your grandparents' restaurant. The service says so, too. Professional, accommodating, friendly and elegant. The impact of the food, however, reminds you that you live in a modern era of creativity in cuisine that someday will be nostalgically remembered as The Good Old Days. Enjoy this while... More

We came to this lovely restaurant for lunch as part of a Celebrity Cruises tour group - so right away our expectations were not particularly high. We knew that our experience was probably not going to represent the best the restaurant may have to offer. We were however pleasantly surprised. Our lunch by necessity needed to be buffet, and they... More

Beautiful place, great food. The ceviche and potato soup were delicious. They had some amazing guava juice! We sat near the balcony seating and on the square there was a pan flute player. About half way through our meal he left and some break dancers started performing. There was a cute bar there but we didn't have time to enjoy it.

Thanks to "ladytravelerAnnArbor", we decided to go to Theatrum tonight for dinner. We even ordered the same octopus appetizer and the pork belly main dish and added the seafood spaghetti, and we enjoyed them all. The Pork Belly dish was very good. Besides the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the service is great. We told... More
