Description: Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor...
Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.

Highly recommend this restaurant

Service levels, food quality and environment all excellent. I have already recommended this restaurant to others and would definitely return. The restaurant offers free hotel pickup and delivery, which is a nice touch.

Stopped here with a group of about 80 people while touring Quito. A very nice buffet lunch was provided and while service was a bit harried by the full house they managed to take care of the beverage and plate clearing chores with a smile. A real treat was the exceptional music and dancing entertainment that started after most had... More

Dramatic setting for lunch. Food and service was outstanding. Not easy to find, but worth it. The menu was great and the presentation was fabulous

As you would expect from a restaurant in the National Theater, there was a flair for the dramatic in the setting and presentation of the food. We went with the lighter choices and all four in the party were happy. In fact, based on the food alone, it was the best we has in Quito. The ambiance is a bit... More

Fabulous meal, fell into this restaurant by accident and never looked back. Strongly recommend the tasting menus of Ecuadorian fare.

We were treated here for dinner and it was a real treat. The food was typically Ecuadorian and was prepared to a very high standard. Very highly recommended, especially when complemented by wine from their very comprehensive wine list. The restaurant itself if upstairs the National Theatre and itself has a theatrical motif with tall red curtains. Whilst there is... More

My wife and I asked the concierge at the Hilton Colon in Quito for his recommendation for a late lunch while touring the Old Town. At the top of his list was the Theatrum located on the second floor of the National Theatre overlooking the Plaza Del Teatro. The dining room charming and each table had four fresh red roses,... We had lunch here with a group of about 60. Nice buffet with many local dishes. Tasty fruit punches as well. They provided entertainment as well. Overall it was good.

Once stepped in the restaurant above the theater, it was wow. High ceiling, roomy with modern decor. Elegant dining room. Had a course of Ecuadorian flavored cuisine. So many dish was served and cannot remember all, but grilled octopus, Quy and dessert with exotic fruits were excellent. Great wine as well. And most importantly, their service was very impressive. This restaurant surprised us and we had an excellent dinner with attentive and charming staff. Entering a high ceiling spacious room can be unwelcoming but don't be put off. Wine is expensive everywhere in Ecuador due to the high government taxes but the least expensive wines on their lists were all very good.
