Description: Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor...
Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.

Nice Meal

After eating our body weight in corn in all its manifestations we decided we wanted to eat something a bit more familiar. We had read about Theatrum and went to try. We were pretty much alone in the stunning dining hall which we were told was about to get a total facelift. We chose the taster menu... read more

We were treated to a dinner here, and what a treat it was! The crevice starter was wonderfully flavored shrimp, accompanied by fine banana chips. The first course of sea bass and tidbits of calamari and octopus in a coconut sauce (with rice on the side) was to die for! The next course was a wonderful piece of pork, accompanied... More

Had dinner on Sunday night when very few places were open. That said, we have been better of at fast food. On the positive side, the restaurant did send a car for us and a maitre d met us at the curb and walked us in. The restaurant is very pretty and we were ready for another great meal in... More

We ate here on a city tour with Celebrity Cruises. The food was excellent! A variety of Equidorian foods. We had some entertainment too.

The service is kind of fussy. Although the food was very good, it was overpriced. We found other restaurants that were superior in both respects.

Theatrum was very close to our hotel, and recommend by our guidebook so we gave it a try. A bit upscale (they send a taxi to pick you up if you make a reservation) the food was good and showcased some typical Ecuadorean dishes. Perhaps we were there on a slow night as it was early in the week, but... More

We had dinner here on our last night of a four week holiday in Peru and Ecuador on recommendation of our tour guide. There was a free pick up from our hotel - the Hilton. (It is essential to get transport here at night as it is surrounded by areas that it is not safe to walk in at night).... More

We were disappointed ! The main course very common not at the level of expectations (worst than any other restaurant we tried in Quito during 3 days) More over, all of the family members (3 adults) got sick like hell after the desert with ice creams ! We spent the night in the bathroom ...

We had a night to ourselves, away from our tour group. Our guide recommended many places to try, and we were one of the only ones to try Theatrum. This was definitely a five star quality restaurant with amazing dishes and awesome presentation. The ambiance was definitely different than any of the other restaurants that we visited. One of the... This is a fantastic place! The Theatre overlooks the the square from large picture windows behind the upstairs balcony. We were lucky to get a window seat for 2. The food is uniformly excellent and derived from classic Ecuadorian dishes, it is fresh and seasonal as well. This was special treat for the two of us and Theatrum lived up... More
