Description: Our restaurant is located in Quito's Historical Center on the second floor of Sucre National Theater, Cultural Patrimony from the XIX century, an expression of renaissance classicism. In the entire second floor it is located the most important restaurant in Quito, THEATRUM Restaurant & Wine Bar that offers an extraordinary menu of the vanguard Mediterranean cuisine. One of our emblematic dishes is the Grilled tender octopus with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, garlic tossed in pesto vinaigrette. Our classic Ecuadorian prawns on the grill with avocado mousse and tomato fondue.

We had a tour lunch at Theatrum while visiting Quito. We were provided with a buffet lunch of local favorite foods. The soup was very good. We were sat on the second floor on the balcony and had beautiful views of the plaza. The staff was pleasant and attentive. It was a beautiful place for an afternoon lunch.

We ate at Theatrum in January 2015. It is one of Quito's high end restaurant ... Lovely setting at the top of the city theatre. We had great service all around, probably the best we had in Quito. However, the food was only average and definitely below par for the price range. It ended up costing us nearly 100 USD... More

Ultimately the food was good, but the waiters were haughty, the drinks were excessively overpriced. I did enjoy the quiet due to excellent sound muffling, but overall we left dissatisfied due to the expensive to value ratio. It was close to our hotel and we were tired, and went there based on rave reviews of friends, so maybe it was... More

My husband and I frequently dine out, and are not the easiest to impress. Despite this, Teatrum stands out as one of the best restaurant experiences we have had for many years. Even prior to getting to the restaurant itself, due to some recent reported problems with taxis in Quito, we were glad of the fact that the restaurant offers... More

Returning for dinner (only had wine and appetizers on a previous visit) we were displeased to find the service haughty and inattentive. This is especially disturbing for the prices which are among the highest in Quito. There is one server who was helpful and welcoming but otherwise the place is full of itself - undeservedly so! Not in any way... More

This was recommended to us by our hotel, didn't know area so went for it - free shuttle to and from was reassuring for our first night in Quito - setting was great although decor didn't need to be so modern - food was excellent, one of the only places in our whole trip that brought amuse Bouche & bread... Came here for an upmarket meal recently. Food was good but not great. Nothing really stood out but it was a nice experience. Had the degustation. It's a safe meal to have. Appreciate the courtesy shuttle to and from the restaurant.

Delightful location. Interesting modern decor in an old building. Attentive staff. Interesting menu with both local and international options all beautifully presented. Impressed by a mixture of local and foreign customers.

We were in Quito on two different occasions in June and we actually returned on our second visit to Theatrum as our first experience in the restaurant was excellent. I found a very wide choice of food and a bonus is that they will collect you from your hotel and bring you back. I would recommend this restaurant for its... More

This place should get five stars for providing a cab that will pick/drop you off if you dine at their establishment. However, I am going to have to take some stars away for the following: -all Spanish menu without anyone that can translate -slow service -mediocre dessert and okay food(chicken was tender but steak was not prepared at temp requested)...
