This is the closest to real Japanese food found Quito. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great.. I highly recommend Tanoshii for sushi and Japanese food lovers

Our hotel recommended Tanoshii over Restaurant Sake when we told them we wanted sushi and we were not disappointed. Located in New Town inside the Swissotel, the restaurant is very elegant but low key. There were 4 of us so we had a vast range os sashimi and rolls and all were very good. Since one of our group does... More

My wife and I frequent tanoshi, at least once a month, but sometimes more. On valentines day (a holiday not widely celebrated in Ecuador) we went at 630 PM only to find we needed a reservation to eat there. The restaurant was completely empty, because everyone had later reservations. As a house manager, you would think they would figure this... More

If you're going to eat sushi out in Quito, this is one of the better restaurants to choose. The fish is fresh, the rice authentically prepared (not mushy), and the atmosphere is pleasant. The combinations are unique and the sauces tend to the sweet side. My recommendation comes with a caveat: Why would you be eating sushi in a city... More

We celebrated with friends at this restaurant. It was difficult to order as the waiter did not know English and we didn't know much Spanish. The food was very tasty.

I'm not sure if the food has been "localized" to match the local taste buds but the Sushi isn't authentic.... fusion... but missing the target. Not Bad mind you, just nothing to shout about. Understand that they're in the mountain, so I won't suggest the sashimi. What's bad is the service. the waiter can't really take note who's ordering what... More

So far it has been the best sushi experience in Quito for me (service, food, atmosphere). I would recommend it anytime to anyone. There are some other options that are good also like Noé or other smaller restaurants accross the city, but this is def the best when considering the whole experience (is is also the most expensive). Maybe it... More

This is a great place to go for sushi, food is always good and fresh. The place has a great atmosphere and they have 2x1 in cold rolls some nights... highly recommended. You can go with family, friends, on business or on a date.
