The food here was very well prepared, properly served, and the service was attentive and polite without being overbearing. However, for such a fancy place, you would expect they would have everything on the menu-they didn't. We had to ask what they did have available, as a number of items were not offered. The desserts are ok, but I am... More

We had lunch at La Gloria a few days after New Year's Eve. I don't know if they were still recovering from the busy holiday season but I wasn't that thrilled with how the restaurant operates. They did not have a cocktail menu, not they have a wine list. They only have two wines they sell by the glass, and... More

We went to La Gloria after reading a review in the NYT. I'm sorry to have to say this, because I'm sure the owners/chefs put a lot of effort into their product, but I was disappointed. The food was not bad per se, but it wasn't spectacular either. We had starters, an arroz con pato (rice with duck confit), and... More

Terrible service, only one server for the entire bar area and the bar was almost full. Our food arrived cold. They allowed smoking in the bar even though it is illegal in Quito and several people were smoking. Their machine did not accept our international visa credit card and they made us drive to the closest bank machine. They charged... More

Hands down, this was our favorite meal (dinner) in Ecuador. We were staying next door at the Hotel Casa Aliso (also fabulous) and needed a Christmas Eve dinner - thankfully this gem was open and we were able to experience this delicious Ecuadorian-Mediterranean food. Wine list was good; beer list (like all in Ecuador) could be expanded a bit. Seafood... More

Quito's fine dining has gotten better in recent years but one never reeally expects world class meals. La Gloria operates at the level one might expect of a larger, more cosmopolitan city. Our meal combined the contemporary flavor senses of new Peruvian cooking with local ingredients. Ceviche, scallops, pepper steak and corvina were all excelent. The Fiesta de Quito menu... More
