We were shown this extraordinary venue by a friend and had, in fact, walked past its doors only a day prior without being aware of it. Jaimie's ascent to greatness is matched by his humility and charm. You are seated in one of three rooms, surrounded by a fabulous collection of paintings, porcelain, fabrics and vintage wines. The ambiance is... More

Jaime, the owner attended us personally. The food was great as well as the wines we drank. He is get a wine cellar with a few hundreds of bottles of spectacular wines to choose. The place is located at San Marcos neighborhood, an amazing area where you can walk by at any time, get photos of the San Marcos church... More

We had a lovely evening in this unique restaurant. We felt like we were dining in a museum. The wine cellar was well stocked. We had a great wine with our meal. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. Everything was very good, except my main entree, the sea bass which was over cooked. Otherwise, the setting, the service by the... More

I visited this restaurant some time ago, I enjoyed too much of its Ecuadorian cuisine with a gourmet touch and its excellent selection of wines, the place have a nice environment called "Quiteño" by local people. I recommend to everybody visit the octava de corpus.

We met up with a family we met during part of our Amazon trip. We told them about the lovely San Marcos neighborhood and we're recommended by the hotel to this restaurant. All in all the place is lovely, the wine cellar is well stocked and they have a few great vintages. The food was very good. We loved the... More

Loved this place.Really good fresh seafood and the owner/host Jaime is a classic old school gentleman who made us feel like we were guests dining in his home.Place is decorated with his amazing collection of eclectic art and he has curated a stunning wine selection.Eat here now if you are in Quito. Best meal so far in Ecuador.

The owner was truly delightful and gracious, and the restaurant itself is a true gem filled with a variety of Ecuadorian art. That is what makes this a difficult review. Unfortunately, the food was grossly overpriced and truly mediocre. The meal started with what appeared to be Ritz crackers and a pat of butter. It went downhill from there. The... More

Jaime could not be more welcoming or attentive. Perfect level of service and what a charming atmosphere. The wine cellar is lovely. The food was good and plated well but not matching the quality of service, wine or atmosphere. Overall well worth the visit. We will be back on our next visit to Quito. This is a do not miss... We were looking forward to a unique dining experience but were let down. The food was so bad, precooked and just heated up, very dry. I actually had to send my desert back, really? The owner was nice but the food was just not good, period. And it was also expensive.
