Situated in the beautiful historic centre of Quito, Octava de Corpus is a dining experience like no other I've had in Ecuador. The best thing about the restaurant is undoubtedly the quality of its cellar. The owner will take you down to pick a bottle and he knows his onions. The decor is quaint and perhaps a little cluttered. The... More

We were so looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews. The decor and table settings were lovely. But the food was not good. I had the sea bass and it tasted so fishy I could not eat it. We were dining in a large group so I didn't want to make a scene or wait for another entree,... More

We enjoyed a lovely evening at the restaurant - it is such a remarkable place filled to the brim with artwork and antiques. We were given a huge welcome by Jaimie and we were given a tour of the excellent wine cellar. It was a Sunday evening and not many restaurants in the area were open. The food was good... More

We were going to another restaurant, but when we arrived it was closed. We drove by this restaurant and saw that it was open so we went in. The owner was very friendly and showed us the whole place... it was like nothing I had seen before. Long tables, artwork everywhere, great visit of the cellar, excellent wine for only... More

made a reservation online for 6:30pm for a friday night and we were the 1st people to show up. By the time we left at 8:30pm, only 2 other people showed up, not sure if this is typical or if it was just a slow night. Anyways... The place is like a museum, the walls are decorated with paintings, there... More

We made a reservation based on the recommendations from a friend and the reviews. The service was excellent, however the food was very average and for the quality over priced. The wine cellar was interesting. We were the only people eating - everyone else appeared to be looking at art and having wine. Would not hurry back. Enjoyed the food... More

We had dinner here yesterday evening! To start the place is stunning; the walls are covered in art work, the tables are beautifully decorated, the wine cellar is to die for and, Jaime, the host makes you feel very comfortable and at ease . More importantly, the food was amazing. Beautifully cooked with loads of flavour that was well balanced.... More

This restaurant is in an old home in Quito Old Town. Hard to find and Hard to leave! Like eating in a boutique art museum. What a great way to get a taste of Quito hospitality and the food was divine. One of my favorite restaurant experiences ever.

Jaime made our last evening in Quito truly amazing.... No need to go to any other restaurant, he understands service, heart and passion in his food and restaurant. My husband and I shared a Monday evening with Jamie where he took us into his wine cellar where he recommended a lovely Malbec wine, very affordable, and very delicious. We were... More

This places was very different then anywhere I've eaten before, and we were very happy we chose it. It was like being in someones house for dinner. Everything about it was different, in a good way. When I asked if I could see the wine menu, we were taken downstairs to the cellar to pick something out. I told him... More
