Excellent Ecuadorian Experience!

Wish I'd known about Achiote before my last night in Quito! Excellent food and Capitan Daniel provided exquisite service. We highly recommend this restaurant - the hornemos and seco de Chivo were delicious.

I just ate at the achiote. The place is nice and clean. The staff is Very friendly and my Service was quite fast. It seems to be authentic ecuadorian food, but what I did not know, that this cuisine is absolutely not for me. However, that is Not the cooks fault, of course! The price was ok for this kind... We found this place disappointing. The dishes were overpriced and the food very bland. There is nothing special about this restaurant. Service wasn't bad though, the best dish was the free appetizer we were given.

This restaurant is #14 in Quito at of Feb 7, 2016 and I have no idea why. We arrived without a reservation and got told there was a 90 minute wait. That was fine by us but when we returned after 90 minutes we waited another 30 before being seated. The service was slow and inattentive and the bright lighting... More

We ate dinner here on Feb. 6. Food was incredibly bland and tasteless. Quite expensive compared to other places in the area. Service was polite but very slow, and the joint was darn near empty. Trust me on this......skip this establishment!

We ate here twice during our time in Quito. Both times were excellent! The environment is very nice with white table clothes and interesting glasses. The staff is fluent in both Spanish and English. They are very attentive and very helpful. The dishes were well presented and tasted very good. In particular, I really enjoyed the ceviche. The desserts were... More

The service here can be a little slow but they are otherwise very friendly. The food is fantastic! We tried the guinea pig which although not to our taste, was nice to try. They also do chocolate rice which is a bit bizarre but tasty all the same!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The was live music while we ate dinner. The staff is very friendly. The food was delicious. I started with the hearts of palm salad. It was very tasty & served with corn nuts & dried plantain chips. For the main course I had shrimp in a coconut sauce. It was delicious served with... More

Conveniently located just 3-4 blocks from Plaza Foch. The traditional potatoe, avocado and cheese soup was a big portion! Tasted nice. The Seco de Chivo (goat) was served with a lovely ️unusual warm pineapple, heart of Palm and sweet corn salad.

Our guide recommended it and we dined here before going on our Amazon Jungle trip. The food was great and service very good and helpful. When we came back we went there for lunch and once again food and service great. We tried traditional Ecuadorean food which was sImply delicious. We will probably go again when we return from the...
