Excellent food and good service

During the week the majority of restaurants close the kitchen around 8pm making it a bit difficult to find something nice but this place is serving did until 9.45pm and the choice is excellent. Typical local cuisine with Chicha to wash it down. They also serve cuy ( Guinea pig ). Recommended

Good quality food but preparation and flavors were unremarkable. Goat was overdone as was fish. Overall, was a good but not great choice for Ecuadorian cuisine.

The place is charming! I fell in love with the tree inside and everything else in the setting looks great. Service was excellent, everyone could help you in English or Spanish from what I heard. And the food... delicious! Tips: arrive early (it fills up really quick) and prepare yourself for a long wait (but it's worth it!)

My parents and I wanted to enjoy more ecuadorian food and got the recommendation from the hostel. For me it's an awesome place, because even vegetarians can find good food... I love all the vegetable dishes and side dishes! We went there twice and we had a really great experience with the service the first time, because this young guy... More

We stayed near this place and after the reviews on here thought it would be worth trying. The food and wine offered here are actually quite basic and uninspiring. It's ok but the high score on here surprises me.

Simply great food and staff was excellent! If I had to make one criticism I would just say that it's not the biggest restaurant so make reservations and keep in mind that it may be very loud. I had a great dining experience though. Thank you!

The food was very good and well priced, not overly expensive. We were seated immediately, but yes the service is slow. Our first course came, and then the wine, and finally our main course. Wine was high for Ecuador, but normal for US prices.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff and extensive menu with local dishes. Not cheap, “western” prices. The service however is unacceptably slow: with only one other table with 4 guests, we had to wait 20 minutes for our soup and another 25 minutes for our main dish. Since we arrived in Quito that afternoon after a 16 hour journey and traveling... More

Quito boasts some truly excellent food, however it was not to be found at Achiote. The good parts - great service, a very tasty chica drink and a complimentary croquette while I waited for my starter. I took the waiter's recommendation in the starter, which were just plantain fritters - the same as I was given all through the trip,... More

Went on my first night, enjoyed it so much that I grabbed all my friends and dragged them in on my last night 2 weeks later and we all loved it!
