Enjoyed the meal in this lovely restaurant - chosen for its 'Ecuadorian menu". It was a little pricey for Ecuador, but not by north American standards. The service was excellent, and the complementary appetizer a nice touch. The restaurant was immaculate, with great views of the street.

Very nice, quiet atmosphere with very good food. Service was very nice, slow but food fresh and delicious. We were attended to the whole time. I recommend highly.

This is a lovely, lively place in the La Mariscal district of New Town. The ambiance is nice. The food was very good Ecuadorian fare. It was a good experience but the bill was higher than we would have expected for what we got.

We were not overly successful in finding high quality restaurants in Quito during our short stay there but found one that made us return twice. The restaurant is located in the La Mariscal (AKA entertainment district). Categorized as Ecuadorian cuisine we gravitated instantly so that we can experience the local flavors. All the dishes tried from the soups to the... More

I am an Ecuadorean national, lived abroad most my adult life, travel extensively. This is a god place to try local cuisine without any of the fuss of places trying to give it any kind of a "twist". I found the place impeccable, clean, the service super polite and gracious. One could argue the service is slow for North American... More

The place is really nice and has a very confortable sitting. They have free Wifi and the waitress was really helpfull with our order. We had the bollones, the ceviche and the hornado. All of them were cooked perfectly and the plates were the right size. Ask for the Taxo juice

I've found I don't feel like reviewing every new restaurant I eat at these days but instead wait for something special or memorable before writing a review. Eating at Achiote was definitely one of those events! First, the décor of the place is very nice and the restaurant has an upscale feel with waiters in white jackets but the prices... More

We went to this restaurant, I had the shrimp skewers-FABULOUS with a mango salad DELICIOUS! We also had blackberry and another fruit drink ( I can't think of it but it's a combo that locals like). Excellent. The service was great and our meal was great!! Loved it

My family and I had dinner there, the setting and resto were quite nice, clean, modern, and impressive menu with many interesting regional specialties. The appetizers were quite good, potato cakes with fresh guacamole, patacones, and the regional soups too, but the entrees were just OK. The grilled fish was overcooked, rubbery, and the chicken just ok. We may have... More

Nothing not to like, unless you just do not like fresh food and good prices. Our group of eight headed here after a recommendation from our hotel. It took the local police to help us find it (the hotel gave us the wrong cross streets) and it was worth the effort. We sampled everything from soup, to shrimp, to guinea... More
