very nice atmosphere and good food

Nice restaurant with friendly staff and extensive menu with local dishes. Not cheap, “western” prices. The service however is unacceptably slow: with only one other table with 4 guests, we had to wait 20 minutes for our soup and another 25 minutes for our main dish. Since we arrived in Quito that... read more

Lots of people recommended Mama Clorinda to me but not really sure why. I guess because the food is average and the restaurant is in an area which serves almost exclusively terrible food. If you really can't be bothered to jump into a taxi or walk 30 minutes in the opposite direction then Mama Clorinda is a safe bet. However... More

Service was not amazing. Food was only alright and we've had better Ecuadorean elsewhere in the city. It is kinda touristy and the venue itself is nothing special. It was alright value. We would not be rushing back. The ceviche was not good..

Our group of 14 enjoyed an evening at Mama Clorinda's. The service was excellent and we had a lovely third floor open window view of the square below. We each had something different which we all bravely sampled. Everything was delicious including the guinea pig.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. The local/special beer was wonderful. Wait staff was courteous and responsive as well as helpful in choosing local foods for the country.

Great local spot at plaza Foch. The price point may be higher than other places but still not expensive at all. The menu is all traditional food and very well prepared. Best place we ate in Quito.

Our guide recommended Mama Clorinda's for authentic Ecuadorian food. Price was in the mid-high range but the food was excellent. One of the few restaurants that serves roasted guinea pig, which is a delicacy in the country, and was very tasty.

This restaurant was recommended to us and was close to our hotel. It was cozy and clean and the service was fine. I wasn't brave enough to try the "cuy" or guinea pig, but had the sea bass which was quite good. As others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey but it was our first night in Quito so... More

this restaurant is up over Plaza La Foch so is good for people watching. The staff are great and the food was tasty but very pricey for traditional Ecuadorian fare. We had half a guinea pig as this was recommended as their speciality but there was very little meat on it - was fun to eat though - they give... More

The restaurant is located elevated on a corner so you can watch sidewalk activity from certain seats. The food was local and fine. Our bill for two with one drink was $56. The taxi driver had recommended this place as local when we arrived the prior day and it was about a 4-block walk from our hotel.
