Top kebabs and baba ganuj

I've eaten in far worse Lebanese restaurants than this a lot closer to Lebanon. The kebabs were great, the salads were fresh and crisp and the baba ganuj was some of the best I've ever had. The lamb chops were a little tough, but then it's not like they're terribly local I'd guess. The waiters were... read more

This is a gem. We were there as tourists, but most of the diners were smart young Quito locals. This is an award-winning and friendly family run Lebanese restaurant, and the food very reasonably priced. Lebanese food, so enjoy the slow - you're there for the evening, not a pit-stop dash. Dress code: smart casual. And we happened to hit... More

I have only tried a few Lebanese dishes in my life, and I cannot speak from an ethical know-how perspective, but the food tonight was exceptional and a nice visual presentation. I've eaten at dozens of restaurants in Quito over the course of more than a decade. The service (waiter, and all 'front-of-the-house' employees) was quite unusual for this city:... More

Having had a decent takeaway from this place, i finally had a sit down meal and kind of wished i hadn't. Service was totally lacking and they had some old guy that smelt a bit wandering around looking a little lost. Occasionally he would have a fit or stroke or something and get very animated but on the second time... More

Arrived 15 mins after closing and was still accommodated. After months of little veggie options in the small towns of amazon the felafel and hummus and daal and curries blew my mind! Great atmosphere!

Not a bad place... The food was good, although the portions were small and a bit pricey. I've had better Lebanese food in other cities, but hey this Quito. My biggest gripe was the indifferent service (especially for the prices they charged). Most of the waitstaff were nice kids--- which is fine--- but they didn't provide good service and the... More

The traditional Mediterranean food offerings at BAALBEK Lebanese restaurant in Quito are way overpriced for the minimal amount of food served. Button size falafels, slightly bigger than that baklavas, everything is served in the stingiest, miserly amount for the highest possible price. That is a total disrespect for the customer, because the first thought is not to provide the visitor... More

We had heard such good things about this restaurant so we went, and we're so disappointed. When we walked in no one was around for about 10 minutes do we wandered around until finally a waiter showed up. We ordered some starters between us, falafal & humous and then each tried to order a sturfado dish. However, the waiter told... More
