I loved my meal, but I might have been the only one. Had the carparccio and crepes. Language was an issue as my husband was served the wrong dish (and we even had a spanish speaking person in our group).

This was an exceptional restaurant on the 2nd floor overlooking the main square in Quito. The food was superb and very good value for money. It was very quiet which we could not understand as it was so good. It deserves to be much more popular than it seemed to be as it was our favourite restaurant in Ecuador.

Been around a while and know good food and service. Neither was present today at this horror show. Amazing location and beautifully decorated but horrible service and simply lousy food. And if you need to use the rest room - forget it. You will walk immediately out. Absolutley disgusting. Unfortunately I had already had my appetizer - a crappy seemingly... More

This restaurant is located in Plaza Grande but you have to go through a passageway or arch, called Palacio Arzobispal to find it. There you find a courtyard that is surrounded by three levels of shops and restaurants. Mea Culpa is on the second floor. It is somewhat formal and has antiques and artifacts in each of the several rooms.... More

Although is been a while I haven´t visit my friends at Mea Culpa, I definitely wanted to recommend any visitor to give a try to their excellent menu. I have always organized my family, friends and business dinners to enjoy food at its best with an unbeatable view of the Plaza Mayor of Quito. My fabs are always the ostrich... More

When we got to Quito our hotel recommended that we go to the Grand Plaza if we were looking for a good place to eat. We found several. Mea Culpa was on the ground floor just off the main courtyard of this large building. They had a wide variety of dishes. I chose lasagna wich came in its own single... More

They open at 12:15. Several tables have views of the square; you can have a relaxing meal while watching all the action. Good service. Ecuadorian food. Ceviche was fresh.

Previous reviews rightly mention the outstanding location and wonderful beauty of this restaurant and I can't improve on them! Just take our word! We enjoyed a lovely meal here with very attentive service. I tried some of the local dishes and was pleased I did. We would certainly go back.

Had lunch at Mea Culpa while in Quito. It has a beautiful view of the square and the presentation of the food was very nice. We ordered Cajun Langostinos and Sea Bass. Both were horribly overcooked. The fish required a knife to cut. The Langostino was dried and chewy. Service was equally poor. The restaurant is beautiful but the servers... More

Right across from the Iglesia del Sagrario is the Mea Culpa. The building in which it lies is just absolutely stunning, taking you right back into the lives of the spanish aristocratic families and their lives at the turn of the 19th century. The interior is perfect; the chairs, the tables, the wine glasses, the classical music, the paintings on... More
