Listen, just don't order pad thai unless it's in the states or your home country, or it won't be what you want. Gringos constantly complain about this, yet keep ordering it *rant over* Uncle Ho's is the BEST Asian food we've had in South America, hands down. Like, they actually use Asian spices and flavors, thank god. I had the... More

Awesome Viet food found in South America, who'd have thought?! And the banter with Stu the owner is top notch also. Bravo!

Pad thai is one of my favorite dishes and I don´t think I´m hard to please but this was probably the worst pad thai of my life. They used vermicilli (really thin) noodles instead of the standard rice noodles. I didn´t taste any peanut in my sauce. The noodle was also overcooked and mushy. My gf had pho which was... More

Visited Uncle Ho's on a visit to Quito to see my lawyer re: visa and cedula applications. Great spot to have a beer and chat with people from all over. Tried the lemon grass beef vermicelli. Very tasty!

I've been to a few during our time here and this place stands head above all the other ones we've had so far. Lovely owner (thanks stu) and great food meant we left ecaudor with a good meal inside is. Ok, it's not cheap but Neither hugely pricey. I'm happy to pay a little extra for a meal that actually... This is a fun place to connect with travelers from the world who speak English. Many people from the UK and US have made Quito their home. You can find them here.

In pleasant contrast to the Chinese restaurant we tried, this actually tasted right! We had two of the $8 combos - lemongrass beef with noodles and glazed pork with grapefruit salad. The latter was terrific - the grapefruit salad was wonderful- the lemongrass beef so-so. Then we split the fried bananas stuffed with nutella and doused with amaretto. It would... More

Chicken and corn soup was fabulous, spring rolls were so-so, lemongrass beef was inedible (bitter?!). Drinks were good!

Delicious food, one of the best asian Ive had in South America... Staff is nice and speak english, and there's always a good crowd of friendly expats willing to meet people... Its a bit expensive compared to other restaurants in the area but definitely worth it! Dont miss their monday mash... out of this world!!!!

My boyfriend and I could not wait to get to Uncle Ho's, having been craving Asian food for weeks (we basically love all Asian cuisines, therefore the general term). Lonely Planet had made us think we could expect some decent Asian meals here, including pho soup (which is one of my bofriend's favourites so he has tried it at very... More
