We went here for lunch and the food was excellent. Everything appeared to be authentic food with very large portions. It started to get busy with locals after 1-1:30, so arrive before then if you can. I believe we were the only tourists in the restaurant. The main dishes were around $10 each. There was an English menu available, but... More

Really good Ecuadorian lunch in authentic setting in the Old Town. Packed with locals so get in before 1:30 or so. Good fast service and really tasty food. We had the arroz marinara and the lamb stew and both were excellent! We were too stuffed for ice cream but it did look really good! Highly recommended

This busy lunchtime restaurant is usually packed with locals and it is best to reserve a table. And not without good reason. It is located in the heart of the old Quito town. The food and service was impeccable by any standard but best of all was the unusual décor. We sat at the first floor level and were surrounded... More

As Americans wandering around Quito, we were lucky to find this quaint restaurant where the staff managed to understand our limited Spanish and served us excellent food. The seafood and rice dish that I had was plentiful and very tasty. Others in our party of 6 were also pleased. We were being careful in Ecuador not to drink tap water... More

Heladería San Agustín also serves lunch consisting of a variety of Ecuadorian traditional food, Seco de Chivo and ceviches are very famous. The Staff is very friendly and helpful

Heladería San Agustín is a must-see and must-try Ice Cream Shop. Located near Plaza de Independencia (Plaza Grande) this Heladería gets very busy during lunch hours with both Ecuadorians and tourists. The Heladería of course offers up fresh handmade ice cream that is made using a traditional paila. Flavors are exotic to non-Ecuadorians and become a cultural experience for those... More

This place does a booming business thanks to lonely planet. We got there to beat the lunch time rush and were glad we did since shortly after we arrived they put up a purple sash to block further entrance until more tables opened up. The service was really slow. Perhaps it was a factor of what we ordered or time... More

This restaurant (don't be confused by the "heladeria" sign outside, meaning ice creams) is well located in the city center close to the San Agustin church. They serve excellent local food and very large dishes, so pay attention not ordering too much. I recommend to order different dishes and share!

We only came there to have some ice cream and although it is home made, we weren't really impressed. Prices were okay, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly.
