Description: Fried Bananas is a cozy restaurant with a casual and relaxed atmosphere...
Fried Bananas is a cozy restaurant with a casual and relaxed atmosphere, right next to the main tourist plaza in La Mariscal. Our prices are much lower than one would expect given the quality of the food and service. We feature a variety of seafood, Ecuadorian specialties, grilled dishes, pasta, salads, vegetarian delights and more; all creatively prepared and as fresh as can be.You will want to be sure to save room for one of our signature desserts.I suggest checking out our website where you can browse the menu, read reviews and get more information about us.HOURS OF OPERATION: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 12:30-20:30 SATURDAY 12:30 16:30

Flavour, flavour, flavour

After a month in South America we'd become rather bored of the soup, meat, 2 veg, massive carbs diet that seems to be the culture. We needed flavour, herbs, dressings, no slab of meat! We got exactly that with mozzarella in a tomato sauce, pasta with pesto, the house salad and dessert. Not fancy or... read more

Fried Bananas was recommended to my by another traveler whom I had met in Mindo. My parents and I decided to try it, and it has been by far one of the highlights of my time in Quito. The place is warm and inviting, and the staff were lovely, especially Natalie. We ordered the hot mozzarella with honey which is... More

Some of the very best Ecuadorian food we have eaten. We chose this place based on the TripAdvisor review and were not disappointed. We were very lucky to visit on an unusually slow evening, so our choice of table and the service was terrific. Very reasonable prices for Ecuador, which is not always as inexpensive a place to eat as... More

We visited here on our first night in Quito and enjoyed it thoroughly. The mozzarella with pineapple was a little rich for me but a great appetizer to share. Highly recommend the shrimp and rice special. Very friendly staff made for a great start to our vacation.

I went here with a friend since many people raved about this place. When we arrived we quickly noticed most people dining in were tourists. Typically I like to go to "more local places" but I wasn't disappointed. We both had the avocado soup which was delicious!! I highly recommend trying the soup. Our two entrees were chicken and pasta... More

The food is delicious! The restaurant appears to be family run, with attentive but not intrusive service. We had avocado soup and shrimp ceviche one night, and trout, Ecuadorean rice and shrimp the next night. A full dinner for two with wine and one shared desert was $22 USD. Lovely atmosphere, although as mentioned in another review, the chairs are... More

We have had a great time here having lunch with my wife. The place is nice, simple but nice and the food is excellent, please try this place as they have some organics products and in the near future they will have more and more... The only reason for the 4 dots instead of 5 is because the chairs... please... More

The cheese based meals in this place are amazing, TRY THEM... We had shrimp (and cheese) in one dish and something else with bread (and cheese) in another that was phenomenal. The place is elegant and well ran. Give it a shot if your around the area, it's great.

Just a little ways off the Main Street, this restaurant is the opposite direction of everything else. But the food was quite good. We walked right past it at first as its location is somewhat not obvious and feels more homey than commercial. Would definitely recommend it.

Before visiting Ecuador my daughter got on the internet and researched places that we "must eat at". Fried Bananas was one of them. Well, we weren't disappointed. The food was absolutely incredible. I had a pasta dish with seafood in it which was outstanding. My daughter ordered fish which came fully in tact which freaked her out at 1st but... More
