Good food but fantastic views!

This restaurant is located rather off the beaten track and is out of the old town centre and located on high ground. The views of Quito are extensive and the food was excellent. Seems to be really popular with locals too.

The place is super famous because of the view of the city it has, mostly the historic center! I took some clients I am originally from Quito and had never been until a couple of days ago, for the out sitting since its high up there on top of the mountain gets cold at night and there is no heaters...... We are staying in the San Blas area of Quito and choices here are few. The Ronda in the old town is probably outside our budget so we were delighted to find that Cafe Mosaico offered fab views and good, tasty food at an affordable price. Wine, like everywhere else we have been in Ecuador (except Banos??) was expensive but... More

You'll never have a better view of Quito than you will from the terrace of this restaurant. As an American who has frequently traveled on business and pleasure to Ecuador I was disappointed when I first walked in to hear a live band playing really cheesy 70s and 80s american music! Those horrible songs that stick in your head for... More

Favorite place to take people from out of town. Make a reservation for the balcony and go right at sunset to have the best view of the city. Decent food, some fun greek options you cant find elsewhere in quito. Reasonable priced ($10-15 per person). also has a cool sort of boho feel. love this place.

The food is not the greatest (though perfectly nice and generously portioned), but the view really is spectacular and the atmosphere is good. Not fine dining, but well worth a visit!

I go to Ecuador for volunteer work every year, and we bring the crew of 30 here if we have a night in Quito. Mainly for the view. Can't comment on the service since with a group of 30 it would be hard for any place. However the manager was very accomodating, and helpful. We pre-ordered the food and it... More

We were told by someone at our hostel that this place was not to miss. Upon arrival we were barely greeted and basically sat ourselves. After a few different servers shuffles by one decided to actually serve us. The food is monstrously overpriced and for some reason they brought mayo and ketchup to our table even though we ordered ceviche... More

My best friends from the USA came to Ecuador to help me celebrate my 60th birthday. I live in Cuenca, but we were in Quito for 'the big day'. Not knowing which restaurant to choose, we were told of Mosaico's beautiful views. We read the reviews, which did not seem good food-wise and service, but decided to go for the... More

We were there twice and only had lunch so I can't comment on dinner. I had the chicken Parmesan sandwich. It amazed me how they could cut chicken so thin, bread it, fry it and turn it into leather. My wife had a gyro and didn't recognize what the meat was. This is a place where you go for the... More
