Good food and service, amazing view

Cuisine was solid, but what made it a great dining experience was the timely/attentive service and the glittering view of the city at night.

Sit outside at sunset and watch the city come alive at night. There's one restaurant in Quito for this particular view of the historic district and it's Cafe Mosaico.

We went at night and sat on the outside patio so we could really enjoy the views of the city, which are incredible! The service is poor here, but it is in most places so don't let it bother you too much. My two companions had burgers which they loved. I had the fish in coconut sauce (I think it's... More

Fantastic place for a nice dinner out. Delicious food, great drinks and a breathtaking view of the city. If you want a little taste of a selections of foods, Mosaico has a great selection of creative platters that make a perfect meal.

Make sure you go in the evening (about 5pm before the crowds) to set yourself up on the patio for the beautiful sunset with a glass of red wine and cheese / olive platter. Great!

High on a hill overlooking the city. We were part of a large group so service was a little slow but very friendly. Prices reasonable and large portions of food. We sat outside on the terrace and it was quite warm. Best to sit outside in the evening as the view is amazing.

The place is super famous because of the view of the city it has, mostly the historic center! I took some clients I am originally from Quito and had never been until a couple of days ago, for the out sitting since its high up there on top of the mountain gets cold at night and there is no heaters...... This restaurant is located rather off the beaten track and is out of the old town centre and located on high ground. The views of Quito are extensive and the food was excellent. Seems to be really popular with locals too.

We are staying in the San Blas area of Quito and choices here are few. The Ronda in the old town is probably outside our budget so we were delighted to find that Cafe Mosaico offered fab views and good, tasty food at an affordable price. Wine, like everywhere else we have been in Ecuador (except Banos??) was expensive but... More
