Seaxcellent

The Service was good considering we were about 18 people with no booking. The "Parrilla de mariachis" for 2 people was really good and the ceviche even better. Hard to find a place with better ocean view. Go with no doubts. Yeah, some may find it pricey, but you pay for quality!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. Pick one of the smaller places to the left and you will be much happier. The waiter switched 3 times and not one of them came back once to check up and see if everything was OK. They all had bad attitudes and we felt like lepers with their... More

Had dinner here with friends and the seafood was overlooked and fishy. This should not happen in a resturant on the ocean. When we told the waiter, he acted insulted and never came back to our table. Acted as if it was our faul that the food was bad. They did deduct the cost of one meal, but this was... More

My wife ordered the salmon a la plancha which was over cooked, dry, tasted like smoke and had a fishy aftertaste. The waiters, who hovered around us like they were micromanaging our meal couldn't care less. After our meal, we complained to the manager who escorted us to the door and essentially kicked us out of the restaurant. This place... More

Caleta portales is a pretty upscale place for the area but the food is totally worth it. I've been there a handful of times, but my most memorable experience was with an ex-girlfriends family. We tried many different wines and enjoyed all of our starters. But my main dish was a salmon dish covered in a seafood medley of mussels,... More

Our relative who lives in Vina del Mar rates this as the best fish restaurant in the area, and he may be right but it's a bit out of the way (definitely off of the tourist trail) and has an odd decor. The choice is excellent and the service good. I was a bit disapponted as the congar eel I... More

I found our meal here typical of the many meals we had in Chile. While the quality and variety of food available in Chile is excellent, the preparation is bland and uninspired. Very little spice is used, even salt and pepper, as with the fish we had here. Sadly, it was also overcooked, diminishing the benefit of its' freshness as... More

I stopped in for a late lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that ceviche comes as a accompaniment to the bread, butter and pebre sauce. The ceviche was delicious (I would have happily consumed a gallon of it) and the service was excellent. The waitstaff were extremely attentive and courteous- I was the only one sitting outside and... Old, dated, unexciting decor and the first impression matches the food. Service was acceptable, but not good. I paid approximately $18 USD ($8,700 CLP) for the smallest piece of fish I have ever been served anywhere. The mushroom and shrimp sauce consisted of 4 mushrooms halved and a small handful of clearly frozen, store bought shrimp. The fish was overcooked... More

Our driver dropped us off at this place and it did look very promising being right next door to the fish market [worth a tour], and the fishing pier. The interior had a very nautical theme that was well done with great views of the ocean and fish market. I ordered the congria frita [fried conger eel] and a side... More
