Good Italian pasta restaurant in the Concepcion area

My first visit here as I was staying at the Hotel Vergasoni upstairs. Its an elegant space with fine cutlery and table cloths. The menu is almost entirely Italian and there is a decent selection of wines. I ordered a spaghetti puttanesca. It was quite good although not the best I have had. It came... read more

I didn't actually get to eat at Pasta e Vino, because when we walked in at 7 pm, they said they were full of reservations at 8:30 and there just wouldn't be enough room. We asked to make reservations for the next day, but they were closed both Sunday and Monday, and didn't want to take them for Tuesday because... More

Had lunch at 3pm, with a great afternoon view of the city! Romantic place, in the middle of the Valparaiso's neighborhood. The food was ok/good. Missed some creativity on the spices, but still the experience worth it the shot.

and yes it's pricy, but it's some of the best pasta I've ever had, so occasionally I do like to splurge here. Everything, and I mean everything I've had in the place has always been delicious. From the bread and the little surprise apps to the wine and the gin and tonic (with the best tonic I ever tasted...) and... More

Went there with my husband for out anniversary and we were underwhelmed. They didn't leave up to the talk around town, the food was so-so, I had fettuccini and my husband had gnocchi that by the 4th bite he was done eating, the flavor was very intense and repetitive. Cocktails were good. For the price I was expecting more.

It turned out that the Gran Hotel Gervasoni (separate review) has a very nice restaurant within it. They are open for lunch and dinner. We had both during our stay at the hotel. It is the same menu day or night. The pasta dishes are prepared well. There is al fresco dining by way of a steep spiral staircase. I... More

Pasta e Vino was recommended by one of our guides on a walking tour of Santiago. He had been spot on regarding his recommendations in Santiago so we followed his lead regarding this restaurant. My first clue should have been that during the walking tour of Valparaiso the guide stopped in front of Pasta e Vino, but gave a glowing... More

Set in a beautiful house in Cerro Concepción, this was the best pasta we have had in a long while. The ravioli selection is espectacular. We had the duck and broad bean fillings. Amazing!

The food here is presented very well and delicious. The menu had the usual pasta dishes but all had a twist that raised it to another level. We found the staff to be attentive and helpful and the view over the harbour very special. All round a wonderful experience.
