great atmosphere, good food, too bright

Stopped in duringthe day and thought the scene was pretty cool, so made a reservation for the evening. The lighting is all off, way too bright for this otherwise neat place, but this was made up for by the really friendly service, helpful staff, very beautiful and knowledgeable sommelier, nice... read more

We ate here on both of our nights in Valparaiso. There were some unusual items on the menu including a lovely rabbit stew. My husband had reinata (a local flat fish). One of the waitresses is a qualified sommelier and was very knowledgeable about the wine list. We fell in love with the Carmenere red wine which was very reasonable... More

Upon arriving in Valparaiso, my wife & I found our living quarters on Cumming on Cerro Carcel, and shortly after, discovered we were ready for dinner. A short walk & a ride up the Ascensor Reina Victoria found us in a small neighborhood full of cafes, bars, & restaurants. The items on the sign outside drew us inside to a... More

Low key, friendly and attentive servers, good food, good wine… Our favorite dish was the avocado, shrimp and chicken curry appetizer – very flavorful, good quality ingredients and a unique combination of flavors that worked together. We had a really nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc that we saw later at a higher end restaurant for 5000 pesos more than what... More

Nice decorated restaurant; charming and friendly personal. Food was good though not perfect. ... but anyway we spent a terrific evening in there. Would recommend the ceviche and chupes de jaibas, not the desserts. Cheers.

This was the best dinner I had in Valparaiso. The waitstaff was so nice and attentive. I had the reinata and it was amazing!! The food and atmosphere were so good I stayed for dessert. I would definitely return. They play records(hence the name of the place). It's quirky and a fun to eat here.

We followed the Reviews from Trip Advisor and loved it!! The staff was very friendly, explaining all dishes and recommending wines. I ordered fish and my husband ate a meat dish. For entries we had octopuss. Everything was delicious! Ambiance very nice! We arrived very early, around 19h, and it was already open.

This place is well known and has a good reputation, but it's actually hard to find anything to rave about. We left feeling a little let down. The decor of the place is great and the atmosphere was buzzing. Our waiter was really friendly and, in the beginning at least, took his time to help us with the menu. It... More

Cafe Vinilo is s short walk from the HA hotel situated right along a strip with many good restaurants and dessert shops. We had great Chilean wine there along with fine entrees of rabbit, shrimp, scallops, salads and the trusty ham sandwich. Nothing like Spanish ham! The staff were trained and attentive to tourists. The waitress read all of the... More
