Open late and worth a visit

We arrived very late in Valparaiso just as seemingly every restaurant was closing. But Café Vinilo provided a comfortable and satisfying refuge from our despair. We arrived very late in Valparaiso just as seemingly every restaurant was closing. But Café Vinilo provided a comfortable and satisfying refuge from our despair. The waitress spoke sufficient English and the owner spoke amazingly good British English from his 8... More

We chose this place as a result of reviews and were slightly put off when we went in, as the only customers at 8.30pm. However, the owner made us very welcome, explaining unfamiliar items on the menu, and the lace soon filled up. The food was interesting and slightly unusual, the wine was good and the price very reasonable.

This is an excellent restaurant on the Cerro Allegre in a fun neighborhood to explore. My husband and I had a very nice dinner here. The inside is small and intimate, with good service. I had rock fish, which was excellent, and we shared a bottle of white wine from the Casablanca Valley where we had stopped for a vineyard... More

The food menu is not very good, but the coffee and the wines are great. Good atmosphere. Bit mostly, when ,ost places dont open until 1 pm, this place was one of just a few opened before 11am.

We had arrived in the are early for our room check in, so strolled around the town and found this little gem, we had lunch on the terrace. The food was very good and the young waitress who looked after us was very helpful and professional, the fact the she spoke very good English was a real help. I just... More

We ended up at this restaurant because we were dining kind of late with no reservations, and no one else would take us. The food at Vinilo was pretty good. I had the reineta, a flounder like fish. Service was slow but not outside the norm for Chile.

Service was slow and inattentive, and food seemed overpriced for what you get. Would suggest going somewhere else for a good meal of similar price (Cafe Turri is nearby and would be a much better option for your money). Hope these guys turn it around.

We wondered into here after our guided your of the city and were amazed to find such an inventive menu. My husband had a delicious rabbit and I had a shrimp soup that I loved. We don't usually eat such a large lunch (I think we also had some frilled octopus) but it was delicious. I enjoyed the vinyl theme... More

We walked in on a Monday night and found seats quickly. The music was played out of turntable and was awesome. The person who waited on us told us later that it was 'The skatalites'. It was his personal collection which he often brought to the cafe. We ordered two appetizers and an entree to share. We said bring'em as... More
