Ate the "pastel del choclo" which was a pie consisting of chicken, olives, egg, onion and some corn "bread" filling/crust. Tasted ok but was not anything special. My friend ate the typical chilean dish "chorilana" which looked amazing so thats what I recommend!

This is one of the best local restaurants in Valpo... Don't look for an awesome menu, the simplicity of this make the place an excellent option for any meal. Accesible price and the owners are really friendly. The amounts of the dishes are enough to enjoy a complete experience local food, fresh, and delicious. You must go!

Today I visited Valparaiso and had lunch at El Pimenton. I didn't know anything about this place, I simply found it on the street. From outside it's very discrete and I was lucky to have spotted it. When entering there the first that I liked were the colors, the walls being printed with all kind of pictures and paintings and... More

I went for lunch and ordered the menu del dia. It came with a glass of delicious iced tea, a bowl of vegetable soup, the lentil stew and flan all for 3900 pesos. Everything tasted healthy and homemade. Very tasty and I would definitely recommend it!

I eas a bit leary of eating here after reading a couple reviews. They were recommended by the "tips for tours" people so i did give it a try. I had a "small" ensalada mixta that was really fresh and good. I also ordered a mushroom empanada xl which was delicious. I also had a beer. I liked the atmosphere... More

We had an excellent time at El Pimenton. The empanadas are huge and truly delicious, paired with an ice cold beer on a hot day it was perfect. The bohemian atmosphere made for a great overall experience!

On our second day visiting Valparaiso, an artist's collective recommended we eat at El Pimenton. While it took 15 minutes or so to get in, it was worth the wait. The place was packed with young adults, the walls were plastered with posters from the 1960s and 1970s, and among the five of us (two from Argentina, three from Vermont,... More

This restaurant was very small but crowded. We were attracted by the sign saying "pastel de choclo vegetariano." and decided to go inside. It was one of those artsy restaurant/cafes that had posters as wallpapers and loud music. food was great, the waiters seemed a bit overwhelmed despite the few people. I still don't understand the other terrible reviews, I... More

Service was slow. Waiter was rude and dismissive. Food was gross. Wouldn't bring us the bill. Charged for food that never came. When we tried to pay, they refused to give us change. I've never experienced such blatant contempt from a restaurant staff that expects to receive money in return for the type of food/service they provided us. I seriously... More

We had a lovely day walking around Valparaiso. We dropped by this place because we had two vegetarians in our group of 7 who can't eat completos and chileno typical fare. We got the big table on the right. The vegetarians actually went in first to check the menu and ended up ordering. (It ain't easy for those people to... More
