Very good meal, great pisco sour

Sat overlooking the harbor. Had a great pisco sour, then a very good meal, followed by excellent coffee. If you are down by the harbor, consider this for a meal.

Heads up this place is only open for lunch. I've been to Valpo a number of times but have never checked out this restaurant. After you take a boat tour of the harbor make sure to come here (the large white building with blue trim by the port) and have some fish and a beer/pisco sour. We sat outside overlooking... More

We sat outside on the balcony overlooking the fishermen on the steps. Our order was taken by someone who spoke English but we were served by Spanish speaking servers which gave us a chance to practice our Spanish. Seafood pasta and soup were very good, nice sized portions. Not a cheap restaurant but pretty good value.

we kind of stumbled into here after going for a stroll around the waterfront. From our verandah table, we were able to watch the harbour cruise boats coming and going and the crowd fishing off the dock in front of the restaurant. Did I mention the food was excellent. And the service was friendly as well, language barrier was no... More

I was impressed by the bread and the "pebre", then the crab soup. But the pasta was overcooked, and the sauce was not so tasty. Similar feeling with the risotto my girlfriend had, not so good. This was a dissappoinment, since the restaurant is very famous and expensive. The service was good.

We walked down to the main harbour area looking in vain for a substantial restaurant with either a terrace or sun/views. In the main harbour, next to the port and the navy centre, we found the Bote Salvavidas which is on the first floor on top of the liefeboat HQ, hence its name. It has a lovely open-sided dining room... More

Come for the view and the wine, and you won't be disappointed. This is because the chef had no influence over these two aspects. Unfortunately we took our dining experience one step too far, and decided to order food. I am not sure what was presented on my plate (I supposedly ordered the seared salmon fillet), but it can only... More

On a cold miserable day we stopped in here for lunch. Warm welcome and friendly service, great views of the port, our entrees were main meal sized, so on the waiters advise we didn't order more and didn't need to. The grilled octopus was tender and delicious, the seafood garden was fresh. The waiters and decor initially appear very formal,... More

Located on Muelle Pratt, facing the Pacific, this formal and traditional restaurant beautifully decorated has the best view from the harbour in Valparaiso. We chose to try different appetizers with pisco sour. Food was good but overpriced and it is a shame they charge twice the price for a pisco sour! Reading all the opinions my advice is: this restaurant... More

This restaurant is in the best location on the harbor in downtown Valparaiso, Chile. It has great views, a nice interior, friendly staff and poor food. Pil-Pil Shrimp is supposed to be cooked in lot's of garlic. The 4 pre-cooked shrimps served were dipped in oil without garlic! The salmon avocado appetizer was dry, cooked salmon with avocado. The fried... More
